Question about Logitech Cordless Mouse

1 Answer

Neither the logitech wireless mouse or the wireless keyboard will work

We recently relocated our computer. In doing so, we disconnected all of the accessories, and now after plugging everything back in and re-starting the computer, neither the mouse or the keyboard will work.

I tried the 'how to' fix via the support but am still having no luck. Any suggestions?

Thank you. I had already replaced the batteries and secured the connections on the cables. I think one of the prongs got bent in the process and might be my problem. The weird thing is I connected an older mouse directly to the cpu with no extension cables and still, the mouse was not recognized. I have momentarily given up and will look again tonight with fresh thinking.

BTW - model is logitech, ce0682 and it is a couple of years old.

    Many thanks.

I'll give it a try and keep my fingers crossed.

Without the specific model keyboard/mouse involved, it is a little difficult to point you to the exact solution. However, I would suggest making sure that your installation of the controlling software did not get corrupted. Additionally, check the physical components and make sure all connections are intact and nothing was damaged (cords, batteries in place, etc.)

Additionally, very likely that the receiver needs to be "reconnected" to the keyboard/mouse. See here for an example of this issue related to the MX600 model. It is also suggested to ensure that you have the most recent version of the SetPoint software installed. (This should not have had an impact on functionality simply by moving it, but doesn't hurt to be current!)

Hi there, MJS10541. I am unable to locate a product with this model number. However, it sounds like there is an issue with the connection on the PC. If you are connecting through a USB port, try another. I would also suggest that you make sure to shut the machine down, attach the equipment, and start it up with the equipment in place. If you are using extension cables, try to get it working first with no extensions to try to zero in on the problem. I would suggest one piece at a time.

If this is a cordless combo, there is one receiver controlling it, right? It really sounds like this is the focal point. If you can connect it to the PC and reboot with it in place, try then to connect the receiver to the keyboard (using the "connect" buttons, which send the wireless signal between the two to establish the connection). If this doesn't work - have you tried using the equipment on another machine? This will at least tell you if the problem is within the keyboard/mouse or the PC you are trying to attach to...

Please post back and let me know how it's going...

The wireless keyboard and mouse are not working.

  • Check to ensure that the wireless receiver is plugged into your computer. Press the "Connect" button on the bottom of the receiver to attempt reconnecting your mouse and keyboard to the computer. If your mouse and keyboard use Bluetooth, ensure that your computer's Bluetooth is active and detects the mouse and keyboard.
  • Check to see if the keyboard and mouse are turned on. If the power indicator lights on the keyboard and mouse are not green, press the "Power" button to turn the keyboard and mouse on.
  • Check the batteries of the mouse and keyboard. If the batteries are dead, replace them with fresh batteries and reconnect the mouse and keyboard to the computer by pressing the "Connect" button on the bottom of the wireless receiver attached to the computer. If your mouse and keyboard use rechargeable batteries, let the batteries recharge before using the device again.
  • Uninstall and reinstall your wireless keyboard and mouse drivers. Sometimes, the Logitech drivers are at fault for a bad connection. Use the Control Panel to uninstall the old drivers, then visit the Logitech website and install the latest drivers for your keyboard and mouse.
  • Search the Logitech Support Database. If your keyboard and mouse are still failing to function properly, visit the Logitech Support website and browse the support page for your product for specific solutions.

I accidentally disconnected my logitech computer and mouse and now I can't get it to reconnect.

wireless mouse / keyboards work on different channels, to avoid interference with other wireless units. There is a procedure for mouse to relearn the operating channel, usually hitting a hidden button on the receiving unit, and then hitting a similar button on the underside of the mouse. When successful, a light will blink on the receiver.

Yes, it sounds like something has been pressed.

There is a small button underneath your wireless mouse, and a more prominent one on the receiver connected to your computer.

To pair the mouse to the receiver, press the button on the receiver, then the button on the mouse. That should fix it up.
