Question about E-Machines eMonster 600 PC Desktop
I wouldn't advise it nickfos2002.
If your eMachines eMonster 600 has the factory installed Processor, and Ram Memory, you have;
An Intel Pentium III at 600Megahertz.
B) Ram Memory:
SDR Sdram, and 64MegaBytes.
With an Intel Pentium III processor running at 600MHz, (Max), Windows XP will run, but you really won't receive the full XP experience.
Windows XP will operate like molasses in the winter, on 64MB of Ram Memory.
eMachines indicates the maximum amount of Ram Memory is 256MB.
That's enough to make Windows move along faster, and almost bearable
Ram Memory sellers indicate the max is 512MB.
(Two Ram Memory slots on the motherboard)
Windows XP would move along a little faster.
If someone gave you a fresh genuine copy of Windows XP, and you have 256MB of Ram Memory, give it a shot.
Microsoft makes a Master disk of the Operating Systems they produce.
We the user, receive a genuine copy from the master disk]
Otherwise I would advise against wasting your money.
Also the factory installed Harddrive size is 20GB.
Windows XP will require around 4.5GB of that.

Yes you can...
Installing Windows XP on a Emonster 600 is the same process as installing Windows XP on any Windows-compatible personal computer. The process is not difficult, and can be completed quickly.
#1 Insert the Windows disc and restart your computer. When prompted to press any key to boot from the CD, press a key. Windows will begin the set-up process.
#2 When a list of hard drive partitions appears, delete each of them by pressing "D" to delete and "L" to confirm deletion. When finished, you should only have one choice: "unpartitioned space."
#3 Press "Enter", then format using the NTFS file system. Do nothing while Windows begins to install.
#4 Wait for Windows to restart. When the process continues, enter the product key, the time and time zone, and your name when prompted to do so. Allow the installation to continue; it may take some time.
#5 when Windows restarts again, continue the process using the on-screen instructions. The process will vary depending on your hardware configuration.
#6 Connect to the Internet and activate Windows once you reach your desktop. If you can't, you can also activate Windows over the phone. Installation is complete.
