The battery cover as bowed i need to keep my finger pressed on the cover to take pictures if i dont keep my finger pressed on the battery cover the camera swiches off

it seems the battery box are a little loose for the battery, you can add some thing(such as small piece ) between the battery and the box to let the battery and camera connect well. Don't block the joint between battery and box is OK

Batterys corroded ruined holder and hold down got new holder but not cover ,by holding down will show no sign of life. does cover have effect on current transfer?

Yes the cover must be on for the battery to make contact to complete the circuit. You can try getting a cover from PhotoTech Repair Service. They are Nikon Authorized repair facility and should have the part.
website is www.phototech.com

When I turn my camera on, it says 'Battery Cover Open' even though the cover is securely closed and the battery is fully charged. Any suggestions?

Hi!
The switch that detects if battery cover is closed is broken. You can open the battery cover and look under it, you should see a small hole with a small black switch in it. If you have experience in repairs and / or soldering, you can fix it yourself - just shorten the switch. If you can't do it yourself, just give it to any local camera or mobile phone repair shop, they should be able to do it without problems.

Hope this helps!

Canon s5 is battery cover will not open

Unfortunately there is only two solutions for your problem:

1. Gently but firm, press the battery cover lid down and at the same timemove the button to open it, and at the same time, slide to the side the battery cover.

Try it as much as times are needed.

2. If still is stuck, then you will need to disassembly it, or pay at a repair service for it.

If is stuck, and force to open it with a tool (pry tool or similar), you have the risk of break the slide plastic channels in the camera body, or break the battery cover, or break a switch located in the mainboard that senses when the camera door is closed, or everything at the same time, making worst the problem and causing you to spend more on repairing it.

Of course that if it has warranty, I do recommend you to make it valid prior to try in send it to repair.

If is out of warranty, Canon charges $120.00 for any repair (or so), so you will need to find a cheaper repair shop for it.

Best regards,

Phone works better without a battery cover

You will need to have this repaired at a local service center. This is covered completely by Sprint Nextel's ESRP (Equipment Service & Repair Program) and TEP (Total Equipment Protection), and can be done at any Sprint Nextel Service & Repair Location. If you do not subscribe to ESRP or TEP, the charge for the repair will be no more than $55. If you just bought this unit within 30 days ago, you should be able to get it replaced at no charge from the location you bought it from.
