1. You need to update the bios to latest version but be careful about updating. Search the properly updating to internet. If doesnt work while the bios is already updated. Suspect the battery is bad, you need to replace new one.

Intermittent charging on my Dell Latitude E4310

AS long as your charger has the correct voltage extra current is fine. Your laptop will only take what it needs. The battery should not charge unless the power is low or the laptop is off.

96% plugged in, not charging Hi all, my Asus

Laptop battery do have a specific lifespan, specially for older units. Still, you can check that your charger are working properly, using a voltmeter (do check the outer label of the charger for actual voltage output).

Battery

This is the procedure for solving consider replacing your battery problem. Start by running the command prompt with administrator privileges. This will give the full control over the command prompt. There are those commands that can only be executed when you are using the command prompt with administrator privileges. Change the destination path showing on the command prompt to be set to C:\ then type the command POWER -ENERGY( to change destination path to C:\, type CD\ ). This command will make the computer scan the battery status and after 60 seconds, a report will be generated and saved in C:\. Simply open the energy report and scroll to check the battery information. Look for the design capacity and the last full charge, note the difference in this figures.
For my laptop, these were the details
Battery Information
Battery ID: Hewlett-PackardPrimary
Manufacturer: Hewlett-Packard
Chemistry: LION
Design Capacity: 88800
Last Full Charge: 36467

To remove the message consider replacing battery fully charge your laptop battery then unplug the charger to use the laptop on battery power. Use it until the laptop to automatically shut down. Still with the charger unplugged, power on the laptop again. Do this until the battery is totally empty. Now plug in your charger and charge the battery fully. Then perform the commands steps again by running the POWER -ENERGY command. Make sure you note the differences in the last full charge details. Continuously perform these steps until the figures in the last full charge are more than 40% of the design capacity.

I get a pop up note that the power supply in insufficent, and then the computer shuts off. Other times it works fine.

The message you are getting is telling you the battery is discharged, UNLESS you are plugged into the mains, in that case, the battery is not charging and the adaptor is not supplyig power to the laptop.
You may have a faulty charging circuit, a loose connection from the DC jack to the DC socket on the laptop, or a failing adaptor.

Check the above and repost if not solved

How to fix my laptop battery from telling me it has 36% left ALL OF THE TIME? My laptop no longer tells me how much battery is left. It is frozen on 36%, whether it is fully charged or flat. It used to be...

Ifthe laptop battery is more than 3 - 4 years old then the battery could be wornout. Rechargeable batteries have a finite number of charge and discharge cyclesand will lose their charge capacity over time, i.e. won't charge to 100% andgradually the charge reduces until the battery won't charge up atall. ORThe battery shows a 100% charge but when the adapter is disconnected thebattery drops off to zero capacity in a very short time. Ifthe battery drops to an unacceptable charge level then the battery needs to bereplaced.

HI, Im BALAJI having DELL 1525 INSPIRON. My battery is not charging, it says PLUGGED IN NOT CHARGING. How to solve this issue.?

Replace the battery. If it shows that your are on A/C power and the battery is not charging then replace the battery. It is not holding a charge.

Leaving your laptop plugged in all the time will kill a battery quickly. You need to let the battery get very low then charge it to keep the battery fresh.

I HAVE A 36 VOLT DEWALT RECIP SAW, THE BATTERIES ARE NEW AND SO IS THE CHARGER. BUT THE CHARGER KEEPS BLINKING AS THOUGH THE BATTERIES ARE RUINED. CAN I RESET THE BATTERIES TO TEST

Charger blinks while charging, stops when batteries are fully charged.
New batteries may not be charged from factory. Let them charge overnite and see if it stops blinking.
