Maytag gas dryer not drying cloths

Here's an idea, is your machine in a well ventilated area? Gas powered devices have oxygen sensors that detect when the oxygen level drops to a dangerous level, this shuts off the gas, but not the machine. Put a fan in the room, open the window or door and try again.

Ge gas dryer heats but doesnt dry

if the flame is lighting you have lint blocking the air flow either in the dryer or in the vent line, also if you have a flame for the first 10 to 20 minutes and then the flame doesn't light you have bad gas coils located on top of the gas valve, when the coils are bad they can work for the first 10 to 20 minutes until the coils get hot and then they fail and you'll see the ignitor glowing orange but no flame, bad gas coils.then when the coils cool down they can work again.hope this helps.you can try removing the vent line from the back of the dryer and see if the flame stays on,if lint is blocking the air from blowing out the flame won't stay lit long enough to dry the clothes.

Dryer is not heating enough to dry the clothes. It is 9 years old, is it better to just invest in a new dryer?

After 9 years you are going to need to replace some parts. If the ignitor works and the flame sensor is shutting down the gas but the flame stops after a while or not at all then them cols need to be replaced. themobilian_2331.jpgthemobilian_2332.jpgthemobilian_2333.jpg

The flame from my gas/fire that heats the dryer is shooting up too high and hitting the sensor, and then the sensor registers that it's too hot and shuts the heat off completely, therefore my clothes are...

it probably has ruined the sensor eye or dirtied it so it cannot let the gas valve open,by chance, has or was this unit on L.P. gas or Natural gas at one time and has been changed over to the other gas,as this will, due to the wrong orfice in the gas flow create an over size flame

I have an Amana Dryer Model # LGD20AW and when the dryer is first turned on the glow plug will heat up and ignite the gas but as the dry cycle continues the glow plug will heat up but no flame will ignite...

The glow coil or glow bar heats up and a sensor on the side reacts to the heat and then sends a signal to a gas valve.(solenoid valve) When the gas doesn't ignite when the coil is glowing... here are some reasons. 1. The sensor on the side of the burner assembly isn't working or sending power to the valve. 2. The valve is getting power but not opening. 3. The ignitor is not glowing hot enough to activate the flame sensor. Usually it is the sensor or the igniter not the valve.

Lgq8611lw0 dryer spins but no heat

Wow that a nice gas dryer. It features electronic drying. I would make sure the sensors are clean. They get a film of dryer sheet goop on them and the sensing board cannot read dampness and shuts down the dryer thinking the cloths are dry. So check that first. Your thermostat control has 4 wires. 2 of the smaller wires warm a small heater to change the rate of time the thermosdisc opens. Newer models have a thermister. Next to it is a thermal disc.e749f09.jpg It kills power to the gas assembly but does not kill the motor. If it is open then their won't be any heat. The next thing to check for continuity is the flame sensor.db76c0c.jpg It must have continuity. It powers up the ignitor.6c68f9d.jpg If either of these are open( no continuity) then you won't have no heat. When the control is cool it powers the gas assembly. The flame sensor and ignitor kick in. The solenoids cannot kick in because the ignitor is on. When the temp gets hot enough it bends a bi-metal inside the flame sensor and opens the circuit to the ignitor. With the flame sensor and ignitor out of the circuit the surge of power can now zap those solenoids, gas comes out hitting the ignitor, and whooosh you have flames. It only take a minute or 2 of flames to warm the dryer to 160f. Then the control shuts down the operation. So what can go wrong? If the limit is blown or the control is blown then no power can get to the gas assembly. If either the flame sensor or ignitor is bad you won't get heat finally if the heat works a little bit but no more, then replace those solenoids.83a012d.jpg They tend to fail when hot and work when cold.
