Question about Fisher Price Toys

1 Answer

I bought a fischer price kid- tough music player. I downloaded the software to my Mac- but when I connect the player to the computer to download music, the computer does not recognize the player and does not open. I have tried different ports and different usb cables. HELP! this is supposed to be a birthday present tomorrow

I followed your advice, and when I connected to a windows computer, it recognized it. So I downloaded the software there, and was able to put a few CDs on the player.

But.... the MAC software does not work. I deleted the old download, tried again- still nothing- which is a problem because all of the music I really wanted to use is in the itunes file on the MAC. Fisher-Price needs to fix it.

    thanks for the suggestions

thanks for the help- there was no CD, only the download, and unless there is something wrong on the site, I definetly downloaded what they said was MAC software. The specifications for the MAC OS was OK for my computer. Itunes didn't see it as a device either. this is a pretty new product, & I think the MAC software is not up to par- happens a lot, but surprising.

I'll try to call F-P on Monday- but at least there is music on the player now, for when he opens the present.

If the computer do not recognize it ..this is only because the driver is not the suitable on e...so ..go back on the manufacturer's site and download the driver again ..and be sure you get the right one ..
Another thing that intrigue me ..is that it is not seen like an unknown device ...so ..there for ..I advice you to try it on a PC computer ..and see if it sees it on plugging ...if it does..even if you do not have the drivers for windows..(it should came with the unit ) ...just take a look to see if it is seen like a removable storage device ...and in that folder you can also paste music from the computer without any other assistance ..
But at least to see that you plugged a new device ..this way you will be sure that the unit it is not faulty ..nor the cable ..and all you have to do is to dig for the right driver for your MAC..

try to see if Itunes sees it like an ipod..or any other device..it will appear by name somewhere in the middle of the left tasks...and i f so ..you will be able to get music from there .. by syncing ..
anyway ..it is just a matter of driver ..probably you have either an older model of mac or a newer one ...or just downloaded the wrong one ...try to locate the driver for mac on the oficial support site ..or take a look on the cd that came with it (if did ) and see maybe it has the driver for mac also ...just insert the cd in a pc computer and click right on the cd ..and explore ..this way you will see all that it is on it ..
There is a posibility that it is just not made for compatibility on mac..

try another usb port on the mac and see if it is seen in another one ...it may be something wrong with the port itself..or ..so....Its strange anyway ..

Kid Tough Digital camera is not being recognized on my computer

The camera should not need software to connect to the computer. It should be "Plug & Play". Try plugging the camera into a different USB port (look on the back of the computer). The software is only needed to customize the pictures. Ensure the camera is turned on after plugging in the USB cable. If no result, open the Control Panel and look at the Scanners and Camera settings.
If you know how to view the devices using Device Manager, open it and look for any yellow highlighted icons. If you have any highlighted icons, then that is where the trouble lies.

Fp3 player driver for windows 8

Unfortunately, your laptop probably has Windows 8 x64. Fisher Price never made drivers for any Windows 64 bit OS. If you had a 32-bit version of Windows, I'd suggest the Fisher Price Windows Vista and 7 software. It's available here: http://service.mattel.com/us/technicalproductdetail.aspx?prodno=K3420&siteid=27&catid=516 .

You could try upgrading to Win8 Pro and using Hyper-V to install a legal copy of XP 32-bit (if you can find one), then use the virtual copy of XP to connect to the FP3. (Windows 7 Pro and Ultimate offered Virtual PC with XP mode to get a copy of XP 32-bit without the expense of a licensed copy.) Otherwise, you need a computer with an older and 32-bit OS. However, 32-bit OS's are limited to a maximum of 3GB of memory.

I wish that I had better news for you.

My Sister's kid tough music player is showing an exclamation mark...reset would do it, batteries would do anything...what can I do?

I found this on another post:
"I had a error close to that one. It was a picture of the player with a flashing exclaimation. I couldn't do anything with the player. It was frozen. I plugged it into the computer and no results. I changed the batterys and got no results. I found the software and hooked it up to the computer again. It said there was a software update. I followed the prompts and it worked. The music player was back to normal. So those of you that have this player MAKE SURE YOU HAVE THE SOFTWARE!!!"

After reading the post, I went to www.fisher-price.com/kidtough/ re-downloaded the software and installed/launched it but didn't get any updates. So I disconnected the player but left the Fisher-Price software running in the background and started doing other stuff. When I went to shut down my computer, I was about to shut down the Fisher-Price software when I noticed the message prompt "THERE IS AN UPDATE TO THE SOFTWARE, WOULD YOU LIKE TO DOWNLOAD IT"
I was so excited to see the prompt and I hit OK. It told me to connect the player to the computer before starting so I did and it automatically did an update. It appears to be working now! Sure hope this doesn't happen again!
