Question about Zojirushi BBCC-X20 Home Bakery Supreme Bread Maker

Open Question

I have a Giabo XMB-138 Bread Maker (Bread Machine), and the bread pan non-stick coating is starting to peel off. I have had it for many years and initially seldom use it. In the last few months I used it two to three times a week. I only put in flour and bread making ingredients into the pand. After use, the internal surface of the pan was sticked with bread particles, I washed it with a soft sponge. I have not been able to locate the brand from the web. Where can I get a new bread pan of similar size and type? I wish there was a better way to clean around the mixing thingie/internal surface of the pad. Please email your comments to my email kktan_17@yahoo.co.th Thank you for your kind assistance

SOURCE: Bread Machine non-stick starting to peel off

The peeling is not your fault. I have had the V20 version for 4 years. I got the company to replace my pan (the first time) when it started to peel after just over 1 year. I would contact their customer service dept. (1-800-733-6270) and request a new one. If you have to purchase it, the pan will cost you $55 + s/h. After almost 2 years, my replacement pan is starting to peel as well. The kneading blades have to be replaced every 1-2 years (according to their own customer service rep) at a cost of $12 + s/h. My first set lasted about 2 years; the second set only about 13 months. I only use my machine once per week. You can find the replacement parts at http://www.zojirushi.com/user/scripts/user/model.php?product_category_id=13 I haven't found a great way to clean them. I'm so paranoid about scratching them or getting them started peeling that mine usually don't end up being as clean as they probably should be! Good luck getting a free replacement pan.

SOURCE: I forget what ingredients go first

You should just be able to put all the ingredients wet and dry into the bread maker. The machine should be doing the work.

They are peeling inside. Only had 3 years. What do I do?

bakers use black steel trays in which to bake bread
they are only covered in butter to stop sticking so if you follow the same procedure it will be alright
the covering that is coming off is probably the non-stick teflon coating which medical evidence proves not to be good for us as it breaks down with heat and age and is basic carcinogenic in nature
Look at all your old non stick pans and ask yourself , where did all the covering go?

You should go ahead and invest in a new machine..also if your pan finish is peeling off that is very bad as you could be ingesting Polyflourocarbons (teflon)with your breads.

How do I remove the stirring paddle to replace it with a new one? I've tried pulling it out with a large pair of pliers

I'm sorry you used pliers. If it has the non-stick coating you may have damaged it.
I have posted a video on you tube of how to remove a severely stuck bread machine paddle.

Just go to you tube and type in ...How to remove a stuck bread machine paddle or kneading blade"
and you will see how to do it without damaging your paddle or pan.

Bread sticks to the bread pan, Can't get it out of the pan when finished. Can I buy a new pan?

Unless the non-stick surface is worn off your bread should not be sticking. When it's done do you turn the pan upside and shake vigoroursly up and down and side to side over the countertop? It should start to slide out. I have owned over a dozen different machines and I have never had the bread stick in any of them. It is best to try to remove the bread right after it has baked and use hot pads or hot pad gloves are best. If it is really stubborn try turning the little "T" on the bottom back and forth. Eventually your bread should come out if you stay with it. Shake!, shake! shake!

Bread Machine non-stick starting to peel off

Since your machine is only about 6 months old, it should still be covered under warranty. I'd contact the manufacturer. (Contact information should be in the instruction manual). The teflon coating is just a sprayed on coating. Once it starts to peel, it's not safe to use them. It becomes hazardous (possibly eating it in the bread).

It sounds like you've taken care of the pan as it's supposed to be. If this was an older machine, I'd suggest ordering a new pan. You can find them on the internet quite easily.

Kneading blade stays in the bread

I had that problem with my Zoji breadmaker. I sprayed a little non-stick spray on the blad and it worked. You can also spray the pan.

Bread sticks to pan

May be that the coating on the pan is just wearing off. Had the same problem several years ago and it was just that the poor old machine was over used and the simplest solution was to buy a new pan. That machine went though 2 of them before it died its self.

Removing finished bread from pan

Before the baking cycle begins, remove the bread pan ,shake out the batter onto a piece of waxed paper, remove the paddle from the bread pan, place batter back into the pan, close lid. This way you only have a small hole in the finished loaf. I prefer the 1.5 pound rye bread, and set a kitchen timer for 2 hours 5 minutes-when the "shape" cycle finishes,we remove the paddle.
This is listed in my manual on page 76,item # 7;heading is METHOD.
Front of the manual lists the times for the cycles, just add them up.
(When you dump the batter back into the pan,try to pat down the rough edges,it looks better).
