Question about Toshiba 20AF46 20" TV

1 Answer

Remote problems I bought my tv aabout 3 - 4 years ago and now most crutial buttons on my remote will not work. The on/off button, the channel/volume button etc. I can still use my Video and mute and volume on the lower part of the remote, but the rest is rubbish. I keep changing the batteries but to my dismay, nothing. Can I buy a Universal remote to fix this ?

TV is not working

If it's 3 weeks old bring it back if you can. There should be at least a 30 day warranty. When the channel and volume buttons on the TV don't work it sounds like something failed.

Fried remote control receiver? (Zenith B32A24Z)

Invest in a long poking stick....... Either the Infrared receiver or controller it blew out. The high amount of static electricity formed and must of jumped off by the infrared receiver causing a momentary short in the circuit board. Safety's shut the tv down before frying, but damage looks to be done. It can be fixed, but only cheap if only the infrared receiver was damaged, anything else and it's going to be pricey.

I am stuck on channel 2

some tv's default to channel 2 after being unplugged.since it is a older tv ,the buttons on the remote and the tv maybe worn down.on the tv itself try pushing the buttons down a liitle harder. if you have aux or line in/video inputs, scroll down on the channel button to log into a aux channel for the dvd player.as for the remote try buying a cheap universal remote to see if that works.
good luck

Game Mode

On the TV itself, press the MENU button. When the menu opens, "PICTURE" should be highlighted in pink and the rest of the menu items will be an aqua color. That means you are in the right place....Press the volume "up" button... this will open up the Picture menu items. When the menu opens, start pressing the channel "up" button. You will see (bright, color, etc.) options in this menu. Keep pressing the channel up button until you see "Game Mode"... the options will be ON and OFF. Use the volume "up" and/or "down" buttons to toggle back and forth between ON and OFF... if you want to watch TV, be sure to turn the Game Mode OFF... otherwise the picture will be VERY dark...
