I have a samsung 46" projection tv that i purchase brand new in 2006 and the sound has been going out making poping sounds which is cutting in and out of acoustical and bass type sounds and starting to cut in and out of sound and if you turn off the tv for a period of time and turn it on it goes without these problems for a hour max what could be the problem is it fixable and where could I get a part without a repairman I'm looking for a not so expensive way to get it fixed any ideas please email me at [email protected] thank you fillon LInck

the color wheel needing replacement is the most likliest cause of that whirring sound it could also be a fan but the color wheel is more suspect for failing.
Ur tv been in use at least 1 1/2 or 2 years.On about 4 or 5 hours a day on this tv?The LED light indicator "LAMP" flashes?The projection bulb life is over.Require a new bulb.
It may cause by color wheel breaking off. Do not turn it on again, it will cost you more to repair. Call service for repair. If you can do it yourself, contact me I will tell you how to replace it. I can help repairing if you live in Orange county or Sandiego.
It sounds like the popping noise you heard was a capacitor blowing its top somewhere in the tv. Sorry I cannot be more specific but if you manage to find out where this cap has gone also check any resistors near it as they can be also damaged. If you cant do this call out a competant technician. Good luck.
