I have a suspicion that you made a bios default for some reason ..and the AHCI feature for your HDD was activated and the system can not see the hdd for that reason ..so ..I suggest to enter to BIOS settings ..and on the advance settings ..look for drives..IN the place where the HDD and the disk drive is seen select the HDD that it is recognized , and the AHCI function needs to be disabled if it is on ...and after that the computer will boot if there is nothing else wrong with it ..
remember look for AHCI and disable ..save with F10 and enter ..and reboot ..If you have a functional windows ,the laptop will boot OK after that ..
