Question about Dell 924 All-in-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I have an AOL Photo 926 by Dell which warranty just ran out (figures) First the LCD screen said "clear paper jam", which was not the case, now it says, "clear carrier jam" and press the check mark. Those carriers won't move at all. When turning the maching of and then on again, they sound like they want to get loose, but to no avail. Please help - or when do I send this printer for a repair. Hopefully I will be able to do this myself with a little guidance from you. This printer is only 2 years old. The Service Tag for this printer is HHJ6TD1 regards

Thank you for your idea. Unfortunately I don't like debts, so I paid for all 3 items I'd purchased just under the "interest added" date, which was 2-1/2 years ago. I have purchased another AOL this week, but this time it's one of my favorites, a Brother. I had orginially planned to use the Dell AOL for my second computer which is stricly used for downloading, thus freeing up my laptop of time and potential malware. So, are you saying that there is no resolution to this problem on the Dell printer? (other than having them fix it with whomever they contract their work - I think it's Future Shop).

So IS there any solution to this poor printer?

I just helped someone with this exact problem, these Dell printers are notorious for dying just outside of warranty. Your printer has sensor failure, it is extremely common with this printers. The gentleman I was just helping ended up getting a new printer, and filing a claim with their credit card company to get a refund for the Dell printer which is exactly what I recommend you do. That is if you bought it with a credit card. If you did, call the card company, and ask if they do automatic electronics warranties, many of them do. You will be able to file a claim and get a full refund on the printer. The one I recommend you replace it with is a much better printer, and is almost certainly less expensive than the one you have... so you may even "make" money on the deal if you were lucky enough to buy your Dell with a credit card. Here is the printer I recommend, only $79 with free shipping and no tax (click on the link to go to it, it's brand new with full warranty of course):

That is exactly what I'm saying, it needs some major work. By the way, what are you referring to when you say AOL? Do you mean AIO? What does AOL stand for in your mind when you are saying that? Just curious.

Paper jam on Dell Photo 926

Hello there
You may not see a paper jam.

This may work for you, it has worked for many here I given this advice so gave it a try it could work for you. Generally when this happens, something has fallen into the printer, or a piece of paper has been jammed in there.

First step, remove the ink cartridge, and turn the printer upside down and gently shake it, see if anything comes out.

If nothing goes, or you can't hear anything rattling around, get a piece of cardstock paper (60lb or heavier) and gently push this through the printer, to see if it will help push out what might be stuck in there.

And gave the rode that the ink slides on a good clean and maybe a bit oil on cloth and wipe the rod with it.

Please come back and just gave a vote, it will gave me some satisfaction to know am helping some one so I will keep on helping.

My dell photo 926 printer keeps jamming up

When you refer to jamming up, what has happened is that the rollers are actually collecting fibers from paper every time you print.

First try and use iospropyl alcohol on the rollers and fan out your paper before printing.

If this doesn't work, check to see if the paper is grabbing evenly.

My printer keeps saying I have a paper jam, but after inspection I cannot find any paper that is jammed. I also put the copy paper in the correct tray, however when I try to do any of the all-in-one...

usually you have to look at the sensors trough were the paper goes (a small pice of plastic that is suposed to move) maybe you have a blocked sensor.

Dell photo 924 all in one printer paper promblem

Unplug the power adapter from the printer and then remove the papers from the printer , open the printer cover and look for any obstructions , lift the printer and shake it firmly, turn the printer upside down and gently tab on it , roll the paper tray rollers manually , put back the power adapter and then try printing a document with only one paper in the paper tray if it still gives the same error then its an issue with the printer and if the printer is under warranty then get the printer replaced .. or purchase a new printer instead of getting it repaired .. dell is offering a new printer 926 for $49 with 1 year warranty.

Do lemme know if that helps.
