Hi,

This can be indication that your Harddrive is not being detected by the system. You can try loading the defaults in BIOS or re-detect your harddrive automatically. See if it is listed in the boot devices in BIOS. You can also try to check if power is correctly supplied in the harddrive. Open your CPU box, take out the cables (especially the molex) for the harddrive and put them back in firmly.

You can try to use the 32 bit harddrive diagnostic of dell to check if your harddrive is still working or not. Here's a guide: Click Here

Hope this helps.

First check out wheather the hard disk shows in bios setting or not ? If it shows then partition the harddrive properly and install windows. If it is not possible your harddisk has been damaged.

Dell GX150 bios sees CD and Harddrive, but windows xp does not.

did you unplug it when you pulled the battery just a thought. also can you take the hard drive to another computer to install windows on it also how about installing from a usb pendrive and have you tryed any diagnostic tools like ultimate bootcd use these tools you should be able to find the problem. if you haven't got an answer or a fix from this then i'd take it to a shop.

You need to check your Bios settings to make sure you haven´t turned on a certain hardware devices that is causing conflicts with I/O settings, try defaulting the Bios settings. you can activate the bios by pressing the F1 or F2 or F10 Or the Delete key when you turn on your computer.
