Question about General Washing Machines

Open Question

My friend has a GE WCSR2090D4WW top loading washing machine. It has been in storage about two years and was hooked up today to use. It seemed to go through all the wash cycles without issue, however when it reaches the rinse and spin, it will start spinning and stop. The clothes were removed and we were able to manually turn timer to get it to spin, however adding any clothes back in the tub causes it start and immediately stop again. Can you help..Thanks

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

SOURCE: stopped mid wash cycle,no drain,no spin, will not go to next cycl

water pump blocked with nylon stuffing from old pillow.removed front panel from hinges under the lid. water pump at the right hand corner removed hose then removed 2 cups of nylon threads and stuffing forced into pumps small openings where it was compacted to a solid mass.

When the washer gets to the spin cycle it seems to stop and not pump out the water. All other cycles seem to work ok. It is a GE spacemaster 22"

Water will not shut off in washing machine

Check to load size selector switch, sounds like tube came off of it. The tube goes from switch to bottom of tube, tells machine what size load and when to turn off water.

Timer seems to have gone bad. Manually move the timer to make the dryer spin. If you get it to spin and drain then it's your timer.

Leaking from the front

take a butter knife and release the two clips on the top of the front panel (look in the seem between the top and front panel and push the butter knife directly into the clips), this will release the front panel from the machine. then you can see where the water is coming from.
