I did that already, I have a professional take a look at the power supply and there is no sign of burned fuse. he said all fuse 250 volts 50 amps are good, what should I do next

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

we have done that too, thanks, but you arent helping much.

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

I will like for another expert, thank you

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

Yeah, I have a professional tech here, who checked everything and nothing seem to be burned, is there any terms or any part, he should be looking at, that he is missing at the time? Like any especific fuse or part or anything?

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

just to make it a little simpler for him to fix

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

I will need the power supply modules, or a way to reset the TV...

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

he said it could be the power supply, but because it has happen that after you buy the power supply the problems stay the same. so before i go spending money, i want to make sure, i have been thru everything that can be checked at the tv... He just took both boards (power supply) and will be running test from home. but i want to make sure that i dont spend money if is fixible.

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

i bought this tv in july 2008, from bj's wholesale. you think it still has warranty?

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

yeah as silly as it sounds, thats what i am doing, asking you to help me, as the professional tech is here, he is a "neighbor" and i just want to confirm that we are both on the same page, and that he is looking at the problem the right way. It has been 1 week since this problem happen, and we still cant find nothing with it... he is a bit confuse with this "model" and will like to know hints on what to look further into that he might off missed.

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

no i bought the tv with a bank card, dont have any credit card, ok i will have him check the power board, anything that you might look in to it that might help?

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

anyway, thanks for your help... I just hope is the power supply, but he claims no fuse are burned, but he still believe we should replace it.. he took both parts home to try to find the problem, so lets see what happens. thanks!

  • dbest826 Oct 03, 2010

Hi,
Unplug tv from wall socket for minute to get reset power supply then replug back in and turn it On
If still green light flashing and no picture or sound then it looks some serious issue in circuit boards and tv needs visual check by professional.
If tv is under warranty then call on number written on tv warranty documents to ask them warranty cover.
Thanks.

The green blinking light signals the fact that the power source is in protected mode - the source has been shut down because there's a big short on one of it's output power lines. This is usually caused by either the failure of the power source itself or because the inverter board has failed. You said that the repair man has taken them both for further testing - this is exactly what i would have done.
The power board is probably fixable, but the inverter board if it's dead it will have to be replaced - when it fails it fails the big way, completely frying itself and sometimes the power source.
Yes, the tv is fixable - worst case it will cost you $250 for the boards plus labor to replace them.
No, the tv is no longer in warranty, it expired a few weeks ago, after 2 years.

Sounds like a failed or at least failing power supply / power board inside the TV. Unfortunately this is a very difficult repair, and unless you are an electrician I would not recommend attempting it. You will need to contact a local TV repair person in your area. If you think it may still be under warranty please contact the manufacturer to file an RMA. If you happened to purchase the TV with a major credit card (not a debit card) there is a good chance it may still be under the free extended warranty most credit cards place on electronics. Please contact your credit card company to inquire if they do this, and they will be able to file the claim and get you a refund for the TV.

So sorry that I don't have better news but it is definitely a power issue internally.

Thanks
Tim

Ok well you won't necessarily be seeing anything burned... It can be the main board as well. I would check into the option of filing a claim on this TV if you can, but it sounds like you can't. It can be the main board, or video board as well. Who is this person that said the voltages were fine? The "he" you referred to? Can they help you fix it? It is sometimes impossible to tell that a board is damaged until you swap it with a new board.

Oh wow, I see, a professional..... So they were able to tell you that it wasn't the power supply, so what did they say it was?

You want the power supply modules? What do you mean? You want to know the part # of the power supply? I'm sorry, I'm confused here... you have a "professional" in person but are still consulting us as well?

If you read my comment, no it will not have a warranty from "BJ's" but if you bought it with a card like American Express it has a warranty through them. I have successfully warrantied 2, and 4 year old TV's through AmEx and received full refunds multiple times.

I still believe it is that power board.

Ok that makes more sense. I am still quite certain the power supply is the issue. If he finds it is not, then it would either be the main board of the TV, or the video board on this particular model, although either of those would be very rare.

    Thanks

Sounds good, and as mentioned it may appear fine but many times it is still bad, I would bet for sure it's the power supply.

Red/green lights both blink and tv will on turn on

Are the red and green lights blinking at the same rate or not? If the green light is blinking every 3 seconds and the red light is blinking every 1/2 second, the lamp door is not properly secured. If both lights are blinking at 1 second intervals, try replacing the lamp. If a new lamp doesn't solve the problem, the TV needs service.

I hope this helps.

Blinking green light on Mitsubishi will not turn off

The capacitors on the DM board need replacement, thats a common problem it will work fine but if power is loss even for a minute the capacitor drain, then they cant recharge since they need replacement so the set will just keep blinking the timer light. Installing the V26 DM repair kit from www.tvrepairworld.com will usually repair that. The kit contains the Replacement caps and the CD with detailed instructions.

Can you please supply us with the make and model as well as the blink count of the green light. That count should be indicating the problem circuit. Once that info is posted, we should be able to give you more details and possible solutions.
