If this is done with every input of your tv and also with tv channels this means a bad circuitboard .You can find on ebay one and mod it yourself. Its not such a difficult thing.
I'm having the same problem. This is my second Sharp EL-2630PIII calculator and the first one did not have this problem (prior job). I can change the ribbon and the print is still so light I cannot scan it as part of my work papers... which is a huge problem as an accountant.
I work for the state and cannot incur a charge. Sorry for posting my question. The problem is still not fixed. Was trying to help someone else that has the calculator.
