Well I can definitely help you but need to at least know the make / model of the oven you are working with.

Thanks

Sounds like you need a professional to diagnose the regulator and element valve to the bake element only.

Broiler takes a long time to light

replace the igniter on the broiler gas tube,if the ignitor is weak it wont let the gas valve open fully or only partially, they may look like they are glowing bright orange, but if they get weak they wont let enough current through to open the gas valve fully as both are in series with each other and rely on current draw to open the gas valve

SET DIGITAL THERMOSTAT TO SAY 350 DEGREES WILL NOT TURN ON OVEN,,, ? IF I SET TO BROIL BROIL WORKS BUT OVEN WILL NOT TURN ON ?

Possibly the ignitor for the main oven burner has failed--

An observation question:

When the Broiler 'lights' and comes on, do you notice the ignitor glowing bright, before the gas valve (to the Broiler) opens, and you get the Broiler lighting---

Now-- for the main burner to come on, -- there has to be a similar bright glow from the MAIN BURNER ignitor, before its main burner gas valve can open-- No Ignitor?-- No ignition, and not Main Oven burner!

Let me know what you need from this point on --

My gas oven turns on and starts to heat up but will not stay on. ANy ideas?

your oven gas pressure regulator valve needs to be replaced. it is a brass colored metal can attached to the oven broiler burner. you can get it at: searspartsdirect.com.

Gas oven igniter glows, but oven does not turn on.

That is correct. You will have to check if the valve needs replacement or if there is power being sent to the solenoid for the valve. There must be just a connection problem.

Broiler light, oven wont

You are probably right though often the ignitor will glow, but just not hot enough for the valve to open. I would definitely try replacing the ignitor first, it is much cheaper than the gas valve and those valves rarely go bad. It is possible that the thermostat is not sending 120V to the valve, and thus the ignitor but less likely.

My stove works and so does my broiler. I replaced

If you use a multimeter, you can test the gas valve where the white and yellow wires connect is where your terminals for bake on that valve are. If you have continuity there, then check to make sure that igniter is wired ok.

Sf195lehz5 free standing gas oven,

Check both gas valve solonoids for 216 ohms [blue broiler wire to the orange common and red oven wire to orange common] both must be ok.

Check oven temp sensor for 1080 ohms.

If above are ok then the problem is either the spark module or the control board.

Since the gas valve was not opening and there was not ignitor sound I replaced the spark module for about $90. You have a 50-50 chance of being right.

My range is relitively new and I'm haveing an oven light problem which I traced to the control board so I may replaced this board to for about $200.

two things either hte clock(control ) assy not sending powerdown to the igiotr, or hte valve that the ignitor is connected to onst nay good, unplugh the unit andwitha meter try testing the 2 wire connections on the top of the safety valve( i wire goes to the ignitor nad the other is a neutral wire htt hooks downt to under the valve for the broiler, you should show continuity across those to leads, if not your valve is no good and will need replacing

Broiler Works/Oven Doesn't

Jrzy, even though you can see the bake igniter glowing, that doesn't mean it's good. Igniters actually get weak (unlike a light bulb that simply burns out). It's hooked up in series to a safety valve (the valve that allows main gas into the oven) which actually reads the amps flowing through the igniter. If the igniter is weak and the amps are too low, the valve won't open up. Replace your igniter and you'll be cookin' with gas again. Tip---> before you unscrew your old igniter, put a little liquid dish soap on the threads for lubrication. This'll ensure it comes out with no problems.
