Question about Kitchen Ranges

1 Answer

I am trying to figure out exactly what is causing my kenmore model 110.77522600 gas dryer to do the following: timer not advancing in auto mode, heats up for five minutes the flame goes out, will not lite again until unit is cool then same thing happens. I have checked all the themostats and limit switches for continuity, they are good. Any suggestions. Thanks Mark

Kenmore dryer model 110 does not stop during automatic cycle

Make sure the small orange wire is connected to the 250 limit at the base of the heater assy. That is what powers the motor on auto cycle.

Dryer timer will not advance in any mode.. timed, or auto mode. Dryer works, but will not turn off unless you open door or advance timer. Do I need to replace the timer?

the timer will need to be replaced if it's stuck in the mode as you stated. the timer is built with cog teeth gears that rotate slowly as the timer operates normally. If a cog tooth breaks off the timer is stuck in that position causing your problem here

Kenmore 70 series gas..no heat, timer will not advance except in timed mode.

What you do first is look for signs of air restrictions which could cause the limit/fuse to melt. Remedy that first. Then get meter and check all the components on the dryer for continuity. The part that don't have continuity is gonna be the problema. The number on suspect is gonna be this one:

If the fuse checks out check the components on the gas assembly:

My Kenmore 80 series dryer won't shut off. It only stops when the door is open. Model #: 110.72822101

In timed mode, the timer has most likely failed and is not advancing. In auto-drying mode, the timer or the moisture sensor has most likely failed.

Kenmore 70 Series Dryer not heating and not cutting off

I had an identical problem to yours this weekend with my Kenmore dryer. There were 2 problems.

1. Timer was broken. Does not advance to "OFF" position on timed dry, however it still works for auto-dry.

2. Thermal fuse was blown. Upon replacing, dryer heated up normally.

I believe when the timer broke, the dryer had kept running and blew the thermal fuse. On Sears' website, thermal fuse is $5.30, timer is roughly $80.

Motor runs, but timer does not advance, no heat.

if the timer is on auto it won't advance if there is no heat, you'll need a meter to read out parts in dryer,is it gas or electric?try first by checking the thermal fuse on the blower wheel housing,if that's good check the heater if it's electric,if it's gas check the ignitor, sensor gas coilssend model number and if it's gas or electric next time

Kenmore dryer

Jeff, almost sounds like a timer issue, but I was fooled on this once. Under the consol is a inline resistor from the main plug. If this resistor is bad, dryer keeps running in timed dry. Part number for the resistor is 3401076. Look it up on the web so you know what it looks like. Just splices in.. Catriver..post back.
