Try a "factory reset" on the unit. Make sure you hold the buttons till unit confirms the reset.

I assume you replaced the adapter with an EXACT replacement unit. I have heard of some having problems trying to use substitute adapters on some of these. You need a 9 Volt DC with 450Ma or more rating of the PROPER polarity (shell and pin)

I have service manual and it is 3.7 Mb which may be too big for emailing, but send me you email and I will try. Unless you have an equiped electronics shop you will probably not be able to make any progress.

Will a tascam m1600 function correctly without a specific power supply?

As long as your power supply is supplying the correct voltage and the amp rating is sufficent, and of course the power supply itself is functioning, then your problem is more likely to be a routing error somewhere.. it's probavbly best to center all controls, disengage all switches, and start over from nothing. You should also check that what ever you are using to hear the signal is functioning correctly as well.

How to connect Gk3 equipped guitar to Electric Piano or Synthesiser ?

A Gk3 cannot be connected directly to an electric piano or synthesiser. The 23 pin DIN connector connects the GK3 / GUITAR to a Roland guitar synthesiser which produces the synth tones . This unit can be connected via midi cable to any external keyboard or synthesiser...to produce different or varied tones from the external synth ........provided the devices are able to communicate with each other...see the midi implementation charts for each device for information....

How do I connect my GK3 equipped guitar to an Electric Piano or Synth ?

You cannot connect a Gk3 directly to an electric piano or synth. What you have to do is connect the 13 pin DIN connecting cable from the gk3 to the input on a Roland guitar synth unit like GR 20 or the GR 55 which supplies the desired instrument tones as required. The synth can be connected via 5 pin midi cable to an external synth to provide further tones...I personally have never used a keyboard to provide extra tones because I am a guitarist so only used synth modules and not keyboard ....remember also you need an amp or pa system to hear the sound output from the guitar synth module or external module.

I got a roland jx-1 keyboard with no power supply. i tried radio shack power supply (12v - 500ma) as mentioned at the back of the keyboard and i was able to turn it on but couldn't hear any sounds..plz...

search google for "JX-1 FACTORY RESET". If that does not help, try your headphones. If that neither, you blew the Audio Power Amp circuit. Take it to a Tech. Good luck !!

Roland jx 1

Hello,

I guess that Roland needs a supply specs about 12VDC at 800mA to 1A with the center tip as + and ring of adapter as - better to use with 12Vdc at 1A, IMHO, hope this helps.

Guitar out has no sound

You must connect a short jack cable between the GK2 or GK3 and you normal guitar jack out. Secondly, the switch on the GK should be in the middle, that will give synth & dry guitar simultaneously.

In juno di faviourite button when i bush one after another there is sound gap in tones ie fraction of second gap

This is probably normal. The sound generators need to re-configure when changing voices. This means that while one set is generating the old voice, others have to be set to the new and the old cancelled. The sound has to be muted between the setting changes... this takes a fraction of a second to do in the hardware. The only solution is to use two synths and have each set to the sounds you want. MANY musicians rack up two synths just for this purpose.

Need a 6 pin cable for Roland JX-3P

Make your own cable!

Check this connector or others at the site: (this is the male, not sure which *** you need on the cable).

http://search.digikey.com/scripts/DkSearch/dksus.dll?Detail&name=CP-1060-ND

Use 5 conductor shielded wire. Connect the cable shield to pins 4 and others to their corresponding pins.

Backlight on my Roland D50 does not show up when powered up.All that happens is that the screen changes from black to a very feint yellowy green and there is no sound at all from the synth .... any ideas?...

This sounds like you have a failure in the power supply. This could be due to a bad solder joint or a failed component. The part cost should be minimal.

The backlight sounds like it is not getting the full voltage. The electronics mostly will run on 5 volts DC. Below about 4.75 volts things just won't work.
