the scanner and keep coming up with a twain error. The scanner is not recognized. Help! I really need my scanner for my business.

Install another scanning software, if you have photoshop or any imaging software, you can use the scanner by going to the menu, then choose File, Import, TWAIN, Acquire and the scanner control will appear.
Or just go to My Computer and double click the scanner icon (in XP) to start the scanning assistant.
<< In order for you to scan images or txt doc's from the scanner unit or all in one printers., You will an application to do that >>
> For Epson All in one printers you can use the application that came with the cd driver called ( Epson Scan ) or you can download it from the Epson Website.

You need to select the model of your printer ( click on it ) < Drivers and Downloads > choose your operating system and download the ( Twain Driver and Epson Scan Utility )
> If Epson Scan is already installed to your computer., Launch or open Epson Scan and on the upper right corner of the window there are mode options you can choose from ( Home Mode., Professional Mode., etc ) you may want to use "Home Mode" its user friendly,

> If you have a windows system you might try using "MS PAINT" its a windows based application.
Click on Start / All Programs / Accessories., and look for "Paint" ( click on it ) on the Paint Window click on File and then click on From Scanner or Camera., just follow the step by step instructions how to acquire / scan an image/doc's from your scanner. ( in some cases it will ask you which scanner to use if you have multiple imaging devices connected t your computer )
note :> if the "From Scanner or Camera" is graded out ( your scanner is not detected by your computer or it needs a twain driver to be recognized by your computer )
You need to remove the yellow question mark on the device manager. Click on the plus sign of the Question mark icon. Right click on the item that will be displayed under the question mark and then uninstall. You need to uninstall the drivers as well. you can doo it on add/remove programs(winxp) or program features (vista). Unplug the USb cable/ Download drivers from support.epson.com and you just need to choose the right driver for your windows version. After Installing the TWAIN driver and Epson scan utility, you need to restart computer. When computer is ready you can plug in the usb cable and open up Epson Scan on your desktop
I advise deleting any Epson scanner or TWAIN software and installing this driver - TWAIN Driver and EPSON Scan Utility v3.04A - from Epson's download page - http://www.epson.com/cgi-bin/Store/support/supDetail.jsp?BV_UseBVCookie=yes&oid=35361&prodoid=41764278&infoType=Downloads&platform=Windows
