The Right Laptop for College

Hey,

My name is Craig, and I'm going off to college this Fall and I'm looking for a laptop. I really like the Apple computers, not a big fan with how much Windows crash, but my grandfather, who is buy my laptop for me, wants to be sure that I'm getting a laptop that will handle everything I need for college. I told him that I think a Mac will be best, and he doesn't care. He just wants whatever is going to be best.

Any suggestions?

Thanks,

Craig Prater

What are you going to mainly use it for?
If its only college and to run basic apps, macbook will do you fine.
If you're looking to play games, then macbook pro (as it has the latest nvidia geforce 8600gt graphics card)

Hi,
a 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
the service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
goodluck!

I want to connect the netsurfer laptop using the internet wireless of ukzn (howard college) campus but it doesn't go through what coulf be the problem

Hi there,

It could be that the college WLAN (Wireless network) has some proxy settings. If you are from the same college you can try going to the IT support of your campus so they can configure your computer to be able to connect to the network.

Yes you can use it anywhere. If you have a wireless router in your home you can use the internet there and use it at other wireless locations as well like the library.

IBM sold off it's notebook line to LENOVO. The Thinkpads are excellent business machines and for the price of a Macbook that is dual-bootable, you can really do the Thinkpad up nicely. If he was going to college for a design or music or something like that I would go with the Macbook. Since he is going for business, go with the Thinkpad.
