Hello,

Welcome to FixYa.

I don't know how far you've gone since posting here four hours ago at FixYa but I can tell you 2 of the most likely reason your Asko 7005 dryer will not start.

The first place I'd direct you, would be at the back of the dryer to check the fuses, there are two 15A - 240V slo-blow fuses. In fact both possibilities will be confimed or dismissed at the back of the unit.

If you look at the back as I alluded to by the power cord you'll see two small gray disc/button looking items, these are the fuse holders. You should see this...

i.e.

**Be sure to turn off the power to the dryer or unplug it from the wall before performing any service suggested here please...safety first**

To access and check the fuses, you'll need to remove the holders. To do this requires only a flat screw driver, or even a butter knife and a multi-meter or "OHM" meter to check them.

(Alternately you can switch the fuse with a known good fuse to verify if it is blown )

Insert your tool of choice into the slot in the holder and turn it 1/4 turn counter-clockwise (right) and the holder should be in the position to remove...it may require some giggling to get it out as they have been known to get "stuck" from heat.

Once out this is what you should be presented with...

i.e.

If you remove this fuse from the holder and measure the continuity, you'll know if it is any good.

The other possibility I spoke of is the hi-limit cut out thermostat. It is also located at the back of the dryer.

This is what to look for...

Sorry about the abrupt ending...I wasn't finished, I just accidentally hit the "submit" icon.

Reach around or directly to it and push it in...it may or may not "click"...

...either way after-wards the dryer will either start or not. If not, that wasn't the problem or it will start and you're up and running.

Keep me posted how you make out, what you find or if in fact you require further assistance.

Thank you for choosing FixYa. Please take a moment to rate the info I provided here today.

A testimony is appreciated as well if you feel the help has warranted one.

    Good luck.

    Regards,

    Macmarkus :)

Duh ! I said to turn the fuse counter-clockwise, which was fine but then told you to turn it right...thats the DUH. I meant to say left, sorry.

Go reset your circuit breaker. Even if it didn't pop out, reset it.

SOURCE: Asko dryer 7005 will not start. When I touched

If a dryer is not working at all that's not good! But it doesn't mean you need to go appliance shopping just yet. It may be something very simple like a broken door latch, a bad door switch or even a broken door switch actuator, in a dryer there is a tab thats sticks out of a hole in the wall that allows the dryer to run only if the door is shut, other models may have button that protrudes out of the dryer and when the door is shut, this allows the dryer to run. These switches go out from time to time, also if a dryer is full of lint build-up over time this will cause the dryer high limit or fuse to blow. The fuse is located near where the blower is in most cases. When the air in the dryer gets way too hot the fuse/hi-limit will blow and the house wont burn down.

Hi There, Sounds like there is a relay switch that may be faulty, the power should latch on when you press the start button, I am unsure of this model type, but usually there is a small PCB inside the unit behind the facia, remove the top to expose it, and you can either replace the PCB or replace the relay the latter being cheaper but more work as you will have to reflow and solder the relay

1) there is a reset button on the back panel of you dryer it is in the middle black rubber...

2) you really can't the asko washer needs a 240v to run... You can hire an licenced electrician to wire a 240v plug for your asko washer if you do not want to plug it into the dryer
