Need a power cord for a porter-cable circular saw model 146

All of Porter-Cable's circular saws have model numbers starting with a 3. Assuming your saw is a 346, Porter-Cable's part number for that cord is 330079-98. If your model number isn't 346 or you can't get that part number, most any nine to twelve foot 14-2 power cord will work on your saw.

Do I have to charge battery after each use or let the battery go dead before charging

It is best not to recharge a battery with minimal use. The time to recharge is when you notice a lack of power or performance. The only time that is recommended to "TOP OFF" a battery is when you are going to put it to hard use. Let me know if you need more assistance.

Blown engine

makita likes you to use at least 91 octane fuel and a synthetic oil mixture. the stens oils is garbage, i switched to the makita oil around 6 months ago and i havent had a problem. also, the wacker saws use the same motor and their piston heads are sleeved in carbon so they last longer and dont score the cylinder as fast as the stock makita heads.

makita also makes a 100:1 mix hi performance oil you can use.

Cordless or cord saw Comparison

Cordless tools lose power as the battery drains, while corded tools deliver reliable, consistent performance with unlimited run time. Corded reciprocating saws range from less than 5 amps to 15 amps or more, with more than 10 amps providing optimal power for heavy-duty commercial use.
