Question about Craftsman Garden
Ignition (if you mean the starter motor) is generally the last one. Why? Because there you turn the key to turn the motor and start the engine. After it starts the key comes back. If there is any other function after this the engine would start and then only would reach that function. So, starter is the last. Which should be the red as you have mentioned in your query.
You can check it practically as well. You will have to look below the ignition switch. Do that and try to start the engine (in neutral gear so that the tractor does not move). leave the key there and note its position. From your description you would know which is your ignition wire.
All the best.

S White Wire (Accessories)
M black wire (Ignition)
B Red Wire (Starter solenoid)
G Black wire (you gotta trace this one, it goes to ground, which is a point where the wire is bolted to the frame)
L No connection
