I have tried the M wire but just one of the two. Sorry I should say I am trying to connect a control switch for a 48" snow blade so the electric lift will work, This will let the winch out and in. So I have connected one of the black and white wires to the control red wiire with a instant connector and when I use the control switch to let the cable on the winch out the tractor startes to die, do I need to use both black and white wires in is contection, or what do you think

Ignition (if you mean the starter motor) is generally the last one. Why? Because there you turn the key to turn the motor and start the engine. After it starts the key comes back. If there is any other function after this the engine would start and then only would reach that function. So, starter is the last. Which should be the red as you have mentioned in your query.
You can check it practically as well. You will have to look below the ignition switch. Do that and try to start the engine (in neutral gear so that the tractor does not move). leave the key there and note its position. From your description you would know which is your ignition wire.
All the best.

S White Wire (Accessories)

M black wire (Ignition)

B Red Wire (Starter solenoid)

G Black wire (you gotta trace this one, it goes to ground, which is a point where the wire is bolted to the frame)

L No connection

How do I get instructions on replacing both upper and lower drive belts on a LX425 Toro Lawn Tractor?

You can go to Toro.com and look at the lower left side for "Homeowner" or "commercial" parts. If you enter your model number you can get an owners manual online. I tried your LX425, but didn't come up. Maybe a different number?

Can not get parts for my 1995 Sears Craftsman Tractor model number 917.254860 ? Sears only carrys a certain kind of part what I need they do not carry .

Go to a small engine repair shop for your part.
Sears tractors are just other tractors (Mostly Murray brand )with the sears name on them......as are most others.
There are only 2 or 3 manufacturers making all the tractors.
Your part should be easily ordered there with your model and serial #.
