If the beeping is constant, one second beep followed by half a second pause and another one second beep, it's saying that the RAM installed isn't recognized at all. A signal like that is saying that there is no memory at all. Open the memory compartment, gently release the memory, lift it out and put it back in again making sure that it's firmly seated. If it still gives that problem, try a single stick, it may or may not work with one stick, and if it does at least you know which stick is faulty.

If it only has one stick, you will need to replace it if re-seating it doesn't solve the problem

I'm not referring to a USB memory stick, I'm referring to the sticks of RAM that are in the machine. If you feel remotely worried about the prospect of opening up your machine, it might be better to take it to a shop, but a constant beeping sound is an indicator that the internal memory (RAM) is not being recognized.

Acer travelmate 5735z keeps beeping

You have an issue with your memory or a memory slot more than likely.

Remove the Power Cord, Remove the Battery, Remove the cover on the bottom of the laptop that houses the memory then remove one of thememory chips. Set the chip aside then try rebooting the computer. If it boots, then you know the memory chip you set aside is bad so mark an x onit with an ink pen. If it fails to boot then move the chip to the nextmemory slot and try rebooting. If it fails take the chip out and set itaside, then put the other chip in and try booting it in both slots. If itboots, just to verify that the chip set aside is bad, mark an x on it and putit into the open memory chip slot and try booting.

During bios boot up (Laptop starting) press ALT + F10. This should send you to the factory reset/format setting.

Acer Travelmate beeps 4 times & wont boot

Sounds like a RAM problem. Best bet is to purchase a stick of RAM from a store that will let you try it and return it if the problem is not solved. The beeping is a BIOS error code that signifies that something is wrong with your hardware.

If you have 2 sticks of RAM installed try removing one of them and then if the beep code happens again try to swap them out.

My acer travelmate wont boot just beeps 4 times i recently reinstalled XP Pro os on acer ferrari 4000 and have recieved this same problem 4 beeps and black screen.won't boot..bios or os. HELP

I long + 3 short beeps or 3 short + 1 long beeps indicates memory problem.
The RAM module/s may need reseating to re-establish proper electrical contact.
If it still doesn't boot up then :-
Get the RAM module/s may be faulty, test the module/s in another laptop or get your friendly computer shop to test them.

Laptop beeping and not displaying

I think that the problem is related to RAM. Try to open the RAM from its slot, clean it and reinsert it. Then see if the problem goes. You will find the procedure to open the RAM from your manual. If you don't have it then let me know

Acer travelmate 4000 laptop Big problem

I guess I can assume that you have it plugged into the ac power, so you know its not a power problem. We also know its not a problem with the power switch since the light turns on. So that leaves, motherboard, cpu, and ram possible problems. Ram would unlikely cause such a hault. Even with no ram, I believe the computer would make horrible beeping noises. So if its a problem with the motherboard or cpu, its pretty much trash, unless you want to waste the money on ebay or some place for another cpu to try to swap.
