SOURCE: ERROR MESSAGE AFTER INSTALLING MY LEXMARK X6650 PRINTER

Hi. That error pops up when you're using an installation cd that runs on Microsoft .Net Framework Version 2. Unfortunately, Windows 7 doesn't have that. Make sure you don't have the Lexmark installation cd in the computer. Eject the installation cd from the computer. Restart the computer and check if problem still persists. But if there's no cd in the computer and you have tried installing the software using the cd the first time, uninstall the Lexmark software by going to Start Menu > Programs > Lexmark 6600 Series folder > Tools > Uninstall. Reboot pc. Reinstall, this time, using the same installer you downloaded from the Lexmark website only. Don't use the installation cd. Hope this fixes your problem.

I presume your printer is the Lexmark X4650 since your post is under this printer model. You will need to use the Lexmark X4650 driver available for download in the Lexmark website instead of using the installation cd. Don't connect the printer to computer yet with the usb cable. First, check if your Windows 7 is running on 32-bit or 64-bit by clicking on the Windows logo Start menu > right click on Computer > Properties. For the software, click on this link: http://bit.ly/cdyD9A (for 32-bit) or this link: http://bit.ly/ciegdd (for 64-bit). Download and install. Just follow the instructions. Hope this helps. If you need more assistance, leave a comment and I'll get back to it. Thanks.

SOURCE: Alright, I got a Lexmark

I assume you are installing this printer software from a CD that came with it.
It's not always the best or latest driver for your Laptop.
I would download the latest driver from the Lexmark Web Site:

      http://support.lexmark.com/index?segment=SUPPORT&userlocale=EN_US&locale=en&productCode=LEXMARK_X4650&page=product&frompage=null#1

      This might fix your problem.

This problem is very common and there are few fixes, most of which are temporary. To fix this permanently, you need to install the updated and the proper driver for your printer compatible with Windows 7. It's possible that your system was upgraded from Windows Vista or I may be wrong, but Microsoft .NET Framework 2.0 was included with Microsoft .NET Framework 4.0 and so in reality you don't need to reinstall it. The problem happens when there's incompatible hardware driver (in your case your printer's driver) with Windows 7. First of all, uninstall the install driver for your printer, I would recommend uninstall every application of Lexmark installed on your computer. Once it's done, restart your computer, go to the Lexmark Official website download page and then download the driver for your Windows 7 (32 bit or 64 bit?) and then install it. This should fix the problem permanently.
Your Printer's model download page is HERE,

      1. open THIS link, scroll down the page
      2. and see which O.S is shown beside the "O.S." just below the "Download" tab [bottom of the page],
      3. if it's Windows Xp, the click "Change O.S" and
      4. select "Microsoft" in the first box
      5. and again select "Windows 7 32 bit" or "Windows 7 64 bit" (select the one which is installed on your computer whether 32 bit or 64 bit windows 7),
      6. once it's selected, click the "Filter" button,
      7. wait for few seconds and then click the "Complete drivers and softwares setting up, configuring........" link,
      8. a new pop-up will come up, scroll down and click the "Download" button to download.

Save the download and then install it. I hope you know how to install it. Make sure your printer is disconnected before you begin installing the driver and reconnect it later only when you are prompted/asked to do so.
Let me know if you need further help.
      Good Luck.
      Thanks for using FixYa.

Hi, in Windows 7 Microsoft.net framework 3 is installed and newer versions can be installed on it. If you try to install an older version, it will block your installation.
1-Try to download it from Microsoft\'s website and install it with administrator account privilege.
2-Go to the control panel, find out if Windows features are on or off. Try to check
Microsoft.net framework and then restart Windows. Then reinstall it.
3-If you have still problems, go to www.microsoft.com and search microsoft dot net framework 2 in windows 7.
      kind regards

This is an error having to do with the .NET framework. You probably have version 2.0.
      1. Before doing anything else, write down the .NET Framework versions which
      are already installed:

How to determine which versions of the .NET Framework are installed and
whether service packs have been applied
      http://support.microsoft.com/kb/318785

      2. Now see Resolution Method 2 in...

When you try to install an update for the .NET Framework 1.0, 1.1, 2.0, 3.0,
or 3.5, you may receive Windows Update error code "0x643" or Windows
Installer error code "1603" (ignore the title, if need be)
      http://support.microsoft.com/kb/923100

After running the appropriate/needed tool, (re)install all .NET Framework
versions manually using the download links on the page then run Windows
Update manually to install security updates for same.

Device monitor application has stopped working

First thing, update Windows. The error occurs from Microsoft .NET Framework. Lexmark could have made their application a bit more compatible with framework, but they didn't.
Sometimes the updates still don't fix the problem. Lexmark has a patch for it on their support site depending on your model of printer.
I also heard rumors in other forums that microsoft has .net framework patches that fix the problem.
      Hope this helps.

Many applications are created using Microsoft NET Framework and therefore it needs to be installed on your system in order for them to run properly.
