You need to open it up and see if it has bad caps with leaking/bulging tops as shown in my pictures first, post back what you find.

Why wont my monitor stay on

Please verify it first with other PC, if it is the monitor problem.
It may have the same failed components, caps, just like all other failed monitors as shown in my pictures here:

Please look through the pictures so you will know what to look for inside.

Dell monitor 15 inch the green light stays on but no picture

It's the backlight supply tripping out from backlight failure, but the thing still stays on. I got it to act right by switching to factory presets with some fast menu action once, but the general solution is going to involve tricking the backlight into staying on; you can look at the thing in bright ambient light to see that the display is still working, but of course without a backlight it's pretty much useless.

Since $100 buys a better and more efficient monitor, just replace it; otherwise of course you can either replace the backlight (or go for one of the projector mods) or convince its drive circuit to put up with it a bit longer. I spotted a bad capacitor but swapping that out hasn't gone well yet....

Power of the Monitor keeps going out.

You need to look inside your pc and check and see if the video card is plugged in tight. Sometimes if it is loose, and it isnt connected, and causes the monitor to not show any picture, but still has power.

Monitor signal cable troubleshooting

hi, there is some loose contact in the connection. Take out the cable end from the VGA socket and check the pins inside the socket for any bend inside the socket. Reconnect it, tight the connector with the socket bolts. If not solved, try for any loose solder or wire breake.
Thank you
