Question about GE Washing Machines

1 Answer

I have a new washer. Less than 2 months old. I always use the regular cycle but today I needed to wash a very small rug. I used the quick wash and iti took forever. Then at the end( after the cyle) the rug was drenched. It was as if it never spun (yet I could see it spinning). I then started over and placed the cycle knob on spin and started the machine. It appeared to spin but again it was very wet when done. I have now hung the rug to dry as I did not want to waste any more power. I have read the manual thoroughly and it does not address this problem. Also - how is one to know how much water this machine uses? There is no information in the manual except it says it is an energy star appliance. I have the WSSH300. Does it use the same amount of water if you only have small load. My old washer allowed you to set the water (small, med. high).

take your plug out first????? it sounds like the soft backing on rug is blocking your pipes you just need to clean the pipe from the tub to the exit and the pump

I just need help. I do not want to pay anything to have this question answered. I paid $1,200 for these two new appliances less than 45 days ago! I thought this site was connected with GE. Apparently not.

How do I fix my washing machine? It doesn't appear to feed enough water into the machine. The machine runs through a full cycle but appears low on water even in the middle of a full wash cycle.

I can try to explain the difference between today and the old washing machine. My question would be, are you satisfied with the washing result? If so, then everything is fine.
There are four factors that affect the washing and they make one single round (duration, temperature, mechanical action, chemical action). Old washing machines are spending more water, more detergents, more electricity power, and consequently more spoiled environment and duration of washing was app. from 1 to 1.5 hours. Today washers use less water, less detergent, less energy power, less polluting but because longer duration of washing cycle app. from 2 to 3 hours, wash result was the same as in the old machine.
I think that today confuses people how is possible that washing machine wash three hours (longer than before) and consumes less energy? Believe me this is true, and every service tehnician will explain it.
Because old habits many customers put the same amount of detergent (do not read the manufacturer's instructions) and therefore have problems with the skin. That is why an increasing number of washing machine has the option of additional rinsing cycles.

Have an Amana NAH6800, I must unplug it and plug back in to get it to start wash cycle. Also, keybord is locked until a couple of minutes after the wash cycle starts. Called repairman, he said control...

WELL IT IS POSSIBLE THE SECOND CONTROL BOARD WAS BAD ALSO? A 6 YEAR OLD WASHER IS YOUNG U CAN GET A GOOD 10-15 YEARS OUT OF A WELL KEPT WASHER.

How do i wash rugs?

Don't use a washing machine to wash a rug. Use a steam cleaner after shaking the rug out outside. A rug may damage your washing machine.

Had ld reading on screen which is nicked or clogged hose repairman came and replaced pump. i washed 1 rug and it was fine, went to wash another load and got the same ld reading as before, called and was...

You should not wash rugs in this machine. The Long Drain is caused by rubber backing from the rugs flaking off and jamming the pressure tubing. The control cannot detect if water is leaving the machine ok. Take that tubing off the control and blow it out. This washer uses a small amount of water which is continually dumped over the clothes. The pump is strong on these washers. The problem is gonna be sediment in the base of the tub clogging that tubing.

GE Washer won't drain or spin

this is something that you can fix even if your not a technical person . first you have to open the washing machine front panel or back panel , second , follow the DRAIN HOSE to where its connected to a little motor, disconnect the DRAIN HOSE , take the LITTLE MOTOR out and clean it out , it could be clogged.
it happen once and find out the person put the BATH RUG SET
to wash , the rug was so old that pieces of a rubber underneath the rugs clogged the drain , so there was no rinse and no spin.
try it , I hope it helps.

I have a Maytag Neptune washer. I`ve had it about ten years and Ilove it. today I washed a bathroom rug that is old and the backing has come off. Now the washer will not empty . Even when the cycle was...

sounds likeyouve problably clogged your pump assy with the backing of that rug. all you can do is clean out the pump assy,
1. drain out as much water as you can(buckets, cups , etc)
2. the door comes of by removing 2 screws on the hinge, and remove the 2 screws on opposite side of hinge.
3. the front "U" shaped panel will kinda wiggle and pop off.
4. UNPLUG THE UNIT.LIVE WIRES!!!!!!!!!
5. youll see the pump assy 2/3 thirds the way back on righy side. youll need to remove the clamps holding the hose on and remve the debris from pump housing.when oyu relese that clamp theres gonna be some water still in hose so prepare for might be as much as a gallon or so. plus all the crap you got stuck un there!!!!
6. reassamble and start washing!!!

3 audible beeps every 20-25 seconds

Try unplugging the washer for about 20 minutes then plug back in and use. I have found that this actually works! The only thing I can figure out is that it takes time for the electronic control to clear. If that doesn't fix the problem I would call sears tech since it is less than a year old. They have a 1-2 year warranty.
