Question about Audio Players & Recorders

3 Answers

I have an iriver H340. I can not get it to sync anything. The PC recognizes it, if I check its properties on the PC it says the disk space is all used, but the screen on the devise its self says 0 songs, 0 folders and nothing plays. I no longer have the original disks and I need info as to how to revive this devise. Thanks, Jim

Nothing showing. I think the iriver needs to be reformatted, how ever it does not appear like the formatting that automatically takes place when I right click on it and instruct to format. I am not given any format types to choose from for that formatting either. So I am still at the same point, next idea?

  • jdelisle Oct 02, 2010

Find Devise, right click it it opens to say it is a harddisk with 0 bytes, hit format, it warns everything will erase, i click ok, PC says formatting, time goes by it says its done, check properties and it still says all memory space is used up and nothing is on iriver. What next?

I need to reiterate that I do not pocess the original disks and formatting does not do the trick. it there any solution as the last few only were items I had already attempted.

Hi. Try to check if files in the device is hidden. On your computer go to folder options then select show hidden files. Then go to your device and check if you were able to view the files inside.

Iriver h340 hdd

The only results from a search for h340 is from Logitech, and this is a quote from Logitech support.

"Your Logitech USB headset doesn't require any drivers or software, other than the default device drivers built into your operating system."

If your device is indeed a Logitech headset then you might try this:

Unplug the headset
Click on start
Right click on My Computer
Click on Properties
Select the hardware tab
Click on Device Manager
Look for your headset and uninstall the driver
close all the windows and reboot
after it reboots plug the headset back in, the correct drivers should then install automatically.

My h340 will hang up after playing about 20 seconds and will not be recognized on my computer. I use the reset button but it hangs up again. Any ideas?

I read a suggestion to connect it to the computer via the media port first, then to the data port. That fixed my problems.

Window XP does not recognize my H340 after battery change.

H340 should show as a removable disk drive. Ensure it is formatted as Fat32, run chkdsk, or scandisk. Does the H340 boot into play mode? you did not say. I replaced my battery with no problems... so if it boots Ok it is a non-related fault.

with the hex file hold the navi button for a few seconds; you get four options select the general one then you will see an upgrade firmware option. select this the hex file on your player is your firmware it will then go through the upgrade process. don't touch while this is happening. it will turn off when done. then thats it. Be careful the version v1.30 will get rid of the video option go with v1.29 or less

Putiing music on the iriver h340

iRiver has a special DRM signature, and only recognizes certain file formats. iTunes will ont work with the iRiver, for instance. Here are the formats recognized:
MP3 file
: WMA file
: OGG file
: ASF file
: IRM file
What is IRM (iRiver Rights Management)?
The IRM is digital copyright information file designed by iRiver
Limited. The IRM technology protects copyright and property from
unauthorized usage of digital contents provided through iRiver
Limited.

Use the proprietary software found on the IRiver website to transfer songs. If they still won't play, run the songs through Media Monkey or another Mp3 Converter to make them playable.

IRiver keeps loading and loading and ...

Just a thought, try removing the battery, then holding the rest button in for about 15-30 seconds, release it, then re-attach the battery, if that don't work, try removing the battery, then re-attach the battery while holding in the reset button, then release the button after about 15 seconds. Konqueror?, That's a Linux based file manager/internet browser, is it on your PC or the iRiver? If it's on the iRiver, then the operating system is more likely Linux based, and removing the battery then re-attaching the battery while holding down the reset button, should!!! (not everything works as it should) reset the machine.
