Welcome to FixYa!

Regarding this particular model, this has AGP (Accelerated Graphics Port) 4X expansion slot for graphics cards, I don't think it is still available in the market, you may try to purchase a good second hand graphics card for this and this is fully compatible with windows XP.
Just ask for AGP 4X compatible cards, available graphics memory will be 64 MB, 128 MB and 256 MB. Hope this helps.

Asrock K7VM3 mother board with AMD Athlon 2600+ processor.
The Motherboard is having a AGP slot which says to use AGP with 4X and 1.5 V
Can someone suggest the market products available
when I contact the technical team of Asrock. they responded as below:
The AGP slot on K7VM3 is the standard AGP x8 slot , as long as the VGA card you want to buy is standard AGP VGA card , K7VM3 can support the standard AGP VGA card.
Or , you can double check your question with your VGA card vender before you buy it .

Suitable agp for playing gta 4

The AGP slot on this system is 4X

The two cards that were tested on this from Dell are
ATI 64MB Radeon VE 7500 ATI 32MB Radeon
The maximum card you can connect to the system any PCI video card not more than 128 MB. As the motherboard and the power supply would not support it

Thanks

Will a NVIDIA GeForce FX 5500 video card work on a P4B533-E motherboard?

HI Lau_kua08,

First off, your motherboard is a AGP 4x slot, and the Card is a AGP 8X card. However, NVIDIA based graphic cards which support AGP 8x mode (Accelerated Graphics Port) follow the AGP 3.0 specification. The AGP 3.0 specification retains backwards compatibility with older AGP 4x technology. All NVIDIA Geforce and Quadro GPU's which support AGP 8x mode are downwards compatible with AGP 4x motherboards. When a graphics card which operates at AGP 8x mode is installed on a motherboard which only supports up to AGP 4x mode, the card will automatically switch to AGP 4x operation.

So, yes it will work.

Good Luck,

Mark

Looking to upgrade video. is there a limit to uprade old mboard

Only cards that work with this board are AGP 4x graphics cards or possiblly AGP 8x cards that are backwards compatible. If you buy an 8x card do your research to make sure it's backwards compatible before purchase. Newer graphics cards are pci-express x16 or pci-e 2. These will not work with your board. Hope this helps & please remember to rate my answer. Thanks.

AGP card to replace inboard graphics card

Yes, your GeForce is compatible with the BRIOs AGP 2X port. And there is no problem in using an 8X board in a 4X or 2X AGP slotted motherboard... it would only be a problem if you have a 1X AGP port which is rather old (fisrt agp ports on the market).

VIDEO CARD COMPATIBILITY

All AGP based cards are backwards compatible, so an 8x card should operate at 4x 2x and 1x

however what is important is the voltage of your slot, you can tell by looking at the slot itself,  the AGP slot may have a partition either 1/3 or 2/3rds down the slot, or may have no partition at all,

this slot partition is to prevent you from inserting a card of the wrong voltage.

If there is no partition in the AGP slot then the slot has a switchable voltage, and will automatically switch to the appropriate voltage, (on request from the graphics card AUTOMATIC)

so all you need to check is that the graphics card you buy has slots on the AGP interface that accomodate those on your board

according to the manual

http://www.ecs.com.tw/ECSWebSite/Downloads/DownloadFile.aspx?catid=1&driverid=413&areaid=2&LanID=0

This board has a 4x AGP slot
