Battery will not hold a charge can the battery be replaced and where can this be done

If it's not plugged in after charging it and it shuts off could be a bad battery. Do a hard reboot by unplugging laptop, take out battery and hold down power button for 30 seconds. Once done put battery back in, plug in laptop, let charge and try using again with just battery after charging it for a bit.

If you notice after charging the battery overnight and you have the laptop on long enough to see if the battery is not charging it could be a bad charger cord, in which you will need to replace it.

If the laptop even after you had it charged for full charge does not hold the charge, then it is possible that your battery needs replacement. the final test that can be done is to fully drain off the battery , use a series resistor or about 100 ohms to short and drain finally after the laptop shut off due to weak battery. Now clean up the terminals and that of the laptop terminals of the battery point. Inser back and charge it again till fully charged . repeat the process about three times and see if there is any improvement. 2) when you initially charged the battery after purchasing, if you used it at all before it was completely charged it won't hold a charge.
3) if you live or travel in mountain area, phones lose battery power quicker due to an increase in elevation and distance from nearest tower.
4) if phone has been exposed to moisture or direct sunlight for an extended amount of time, it can damage the phone's ability to hold a charge.

honestly, your best bet is to replace the battery & allow it to charge for 24 hours in "off mode". if the problem persists, then send it in to be repaired.

Battery is done. Won't hold charge. Get a new battery at Fry's or elsewhere if your phone isn't ancient and you love it. Try to find a lithium-ion. I used to buy replacement batteries from Belkin on my older phones and they were quite good. If your phone is ancient, can't find battery or phone is just outdated get a new phone from your carrier. From free with new contract all the way to a few-hundred dollars for a smart phone. You may even have an upgrade discount waiting with your carrier. You'll find something in between that suits you.

Replace the battery, but I am assuming you mean 10% per hour with normal use. If you are on the 3G, playing music, making calls, thats all you're probably going to get. Thats 10 hours, if you use it often I wouldn't expect any more. I charge my new Blackberry every night, and I have to.

If not, then definitely a new battery, because 10% per hour without data or music and usage, it must be the battery, probably replace the charger too if you want to be really really certain.

Battery packs die after a while they are unable to hold charge this sounds like your case, you will need to replace battery pack, if you get two good years out of such you have already done well.

Well if it holds no charge you will most likely have to replace it as it is the battery inside the bluetooth headset in otherwords the battery is buggered lol. do you still have the headset and the charging cradle?
