Question about Panasonic TCP42U2 4 in. TV

1 Answer

After about 1.5 months of use, when turning on the T.V. there is a blacked out area on the left side of the screen which blocks the menu. After about 6-10minutes it will disappear and works properly. Any idea of the issue?

The buffer board on that side will indeed need to be checked/replaced now you should be under warranty and i would assume you would like to exercise that right to get free repair. Fixya is a do it yourself place where we tell you the issue and you buy the part in this case i would recommend you take it to a authorized repair center for free repair.

Picture covered with big block of black - 3/4 of the screen ???

It sounds like your tv may require a plasma panel, but to be sure remove the back of the tv unit and check the y-sus printed circuit board as well as the z-sus printed circuit board, check that they are getting the correct voltage and that there are no blown compoments on the boards themselves. The boards names, z-sus and y-sus are written on the board as well as the voltages are listed down the side of where the plugs at the boards meet. Good Luck. Oh , and also, check with LG that it doesnt require a software upgrade.

There is a black 2 1/2inch bar on leftside of screen how do i adjust is?

if your lucky it's just your H-center is off tilt. to check this Press the menu button on your monitor. scroll through the options till you see Horizontal-center option. select this setting and move the screen to the left. The entire screen should start shifting to the left and fill in the screen. now if you do this and you get a black bar on the right. Center the screen where you have the same amount of black on both sides of the screen. scroll through your menu till you see the H-size. increasing this will fill in the black area. Hope this helps.
