Hi Andipanda.

Sorry to hear about your problem. We have some good tech at Fixya, but also casual posters. I saw your question only today, I will try giving some minimal troubleshooting. If you want to send comments about Fixya, rather than posting here, write to premium.support@fixya.com.

Go through the following troubleshooting. If the machine is less than two years old, instead of proceeding with the operations that need disassembly, call Zanussi to find out about your warranty status. If warranty is still active you can get a technician at home. Zanussi number is listed in the use and care manual.

The current situation is a machine that starts filling and stops after seconds, the problem happened after running a dry cycle.

Step 1 reset the machine: Disconnect the power cord or trip the circuit breaker for five minutes to reset the machine. This will drain power completely and can get rid of troubles that cannot be fixed by using the hold down start/clear button procedure.

Step2 Check the thermal fuse.
Next step is checking the thermal fuse, which is this. The part is located in the heating group, and it is usually accessible from the back of the appliance on Ariston Margherita, Electrolux and similar. The thermal fuse is removed from the inside of the machine, and tested using and Ohmmeter. If the Ohmmeter reads infinity (open), the fuse must be replaced.
Since the machine failed after a dry cycle, then the thermal fuse may need replacement.
If the thermal fuse blew, then there is a problem with ventilation, a plugged element or a faulty high limit thermostat. Usually the problem is air ventilation, check it out.

3 Check inlet adn drain hose.
Move the machine forward and check inlet and drain hose. Ensure the hoses are not kinked or blocked, since the cycle stops when you start filling, then the inlet is more likely involved.
Check inlet hose.
Ensure that hoses are at the heights specified in the user manual, or you may get syphoning (see manual at start-installation).

If there is nothing at a glance, next step will be testing the inlet valve with a multimeter , checking the pressure switch, then checking the thermostats and other parts.
The thermal fuse testing is already a non-user-level operation. If you have to proceed in testing parts I suggest getting a tech at home.

Try tripping the circuit breaker, checking hoses, and dry water from the inside before restarting. If that does not work, then there is a fault. In that case call service if you have a valid warranty, or give me model number if you need more specific info on repair.

If you think this solution someway helped, please do not forget to accept the solution.

Regards.

Ginko.

Zanussi washing machines are some common appliances that display coded error codes. basic models (without digital displays) use flashing lights to convey the error fault code.

If your washing machine malfunctions and you can see some of the lights flashing, or one or more option lights have lit up, then make a note of which lights are flashing and which option lights are lit. Therefore you need to report the lights as LED 1 and 3, or 2 and 4 etc. and NOT "delay timer" and "extra rinse". Count the lights from the left (or from the top if in a column) and report as "led 1 and 3" etc.

With basic washing machines that have no option indicator lights, count the number of flashes. For example, the door locked indicator may flash 7 times, pause, and flash another 7 times in a constant cycle which would indicate error code 7.

so i will need you to tell me the number of times the light is flashing. so we can determine exact error code and then try solving the problem the right way.

thanks.keep updated.

It appears your timer/main controller/CCU has failed in this instance.

For replacement parts - head on over to PartSelect.com or RepairClinic.com and enter in your full model number for a full parts listing.
I recommend both sites because ...

FixYa has no affiliation with either site - I have been using and recommending them for years - trouble free.

PartSelect has a great schematic database for locating the part on your unit and great "testimonials" for each part that often times includes HOW-TO information.
RepairClinic has pictures of each part they sell and also a great how-to and troubleshooting for basic repairs.

If your unit has never been serviced - there should still be an original service manual enclosed in plastic taped to the inside of the shell.
In the service manual are Error codes, maintenance procedures, and troubleshooting steps you can follow.

Anything too complicated or beyond your scope should be handled by a professional.

If you think you want to tackle the repair - and have gotten stuck on a step - reply to your question and I will be glad to help you out.

Thanks!!

Sounds like the switch that tells the controller that the door is closed and locked is actually bad or the plastic molded part holding the switch is broken. Inspect the interface for cracks.

It appears that you may have a faulty door interlock or a faulty PCB. pcb is not really a DIY job as some boards require proramming on certain versions. Regards Advisor
