Hi
My motherboard went beserk! It doesn't load Windows, there just a small dash blinking. I tryed to update the bios but it doesn't work with the CD or a USB key. Should I give it a try with the floppy?? Isn't there an old way to fil this?? maybe taking the battery out the NRAM or detaching the CMOS? Please!

Floppy drive diskett is the most common & ususlly the best.
The blinking dash means the bios flash has failed.
Go to this link for the latest bios file & Bios-Utilities.

Please read all instructions. Worst case you can buy the latest bios from Asus online store. Click the link to take you there.

Hi , my motherboard is k7n2 delta 2 platinum ms-6570e , i've had a problem to install windows xp , but finally i did it . Now i've got problem to install some programs like office , nero itp....

Hi, you can download the drivers manualy from here:

http://www.msi.com/product/mb/K7N2-Delta2-Platinum.html#/?div=Driver&os=XP%2032

The drivers or the bios file needs to be unziped before installation.
Install first the system and chipset drivers.

Try also to run windows update.
You will need the updates to install office and etc.

Try also to add more memory ( ram ) to your system.

Supports DDR200/266/333/400

Gigabyte GA 8GP NXP DUO

Hi, A couple of possibilities/things to try: 1. After reset & remove battery, go to the CMOS/BIOS setup and load default configurations; 2. "...loading windows ... screen goes black..." are you installing a fresh clean Windows or are you using an image/recovery of your old Windows. If it's an image/recovery, it is possible and very likely that the OS is no longer recognizing the motherboard as the old motherboard because of the BIOS update. Perhaps you should try a clean fresh install. 3. try booting in to a simple bootable diskette/CD of FreeDos or Dos 6.2 or variants, just to check if the motherboard will finish POST and BOOT. Post back that we can figure out other possibilities or should you need further information. Hope this be of some idea/help to you. Good luck and kind regards.

When i asked the computer to shut down it got to the entering the sleep mode then came back with the dell logo screen and turned black with a blinking dash at the top

!. Update the BIOS version by downloading it from dell.com/support. 2. if it still has the same symptom, enter the BIOS setup by pressing F2 while on POST and load the BIOS default. 3. if problem still persists, check the power management settings in your windows environment (only applicable in vista and 7.)

Unable to load Win2k8 - ACPI non-compliance - PB

Hi, i think that your board doesn't support ACPI, most board that have a problem like this are Pentium 1 and 2 boards which are only for windows 95,98, and ME OS. By the way what kind of board do you have? Some boards are also having this problem when they have not updated their bios, so try first to update your bios maybe it can solve the problem.

good luck

Updating bios then the OS does'nt load..

Look like the update to your bios has modified its lookup of IDE / SATA or other hardware.

Windows relies on the details submitted from your bios to run correctly.

Try and re-install windows under repair mode - you will atleast be able to save any important stuff prior to the inevitable.

BIOS in BAD Shape

First thing the problem only with O.S(as per your statement - proper shutdown and restart). Your O S afftected by virus. you must format the full harddisk(all partions) and reinstall your O S. BIOS File always having the .ROM extention file, not BIN file. Pls reset the BIOS using the clear cmos jumper or removing the CMOS battery from motherboard.*****severe virus attack. Dont try to backup****
