Question about HP Officejet 5610 All-In-One InkJet Printer

1 Answer

I'm getting the error message " cartridge error:refer to device documentation to troubleshoot". I already tried resetting the printer, pressing # and 3 after disconnecting the power cable, to no avail. I checked what other people had done and I haven't found any solution to the problem.

Thanks, Daniel! It was the cartridges, for some reason they were not working any more, I changed them and there was no need for any reset or anything, printer is working now!

Hi

The cartridge error message appears when the printer doesn't detect the cartridges or when you are using a wrong cartridge. It may also happen when a cartridge is refilled. Try using correct cartridge & check. If you are using correct cartridges then try pressing # & 6 or # & 9 to reset it completely. Hope this helps... If it does please do not forget to accept the solution or post back for assistance.

I am using HP Officejet J3608 all-in-one, it shows me that "Cartridge error : Refer to device documentation for troubleshoot" Pls give me a solution for this

This could be a faulty cartridge or you may have installed a expired cartridge , try replacing the cartridge with a new one, if that doesnt work, then try a hard reset.

A hard reset = unplug printer from the wall,
press and hold the power button for 45-60 sec then plug back in and turn on.
That should clear the error.

Getting error message, "refer to

Try to check the Print Cartridges if they still have ink in them. or try to do a Semi-Full Reset. combo would be: - "print photo" + "red eye removal" buttons pressed together - printer will not ask you to enter the combo - release the buttons you pressed then - press "red eye", "print photo", "red eye" in sequence - scroll down or right until you find resets menu - press ok - scroll down or right until you find semi-full reset - press ok
- your printer should turn off, wait for 3 minutes before turning the printer back on

HP 5610-Keep Getting: "Cartridge Error"

  1. My HP5610 was acting up with the error in cartridge thiny.
I held down the # and the 3 and reset the unit and it is back
    in business.
  2. Is there any other error messages? Like carriage jam or something? If there are no other error then try to do a partial reset on your printer, to do that follow these steps:

Turn your printer on, remove the power cable at the back of your printer while the printer is ON. PRESS AND HOLD the # key and 3 key on the keypad, plug back the power cable WITHOUT releasing those buttons, DO NOT RELEASE THE BUTTONS until you can see the WELCOME SCREEN or INPROPER SHUT DOWN PRESS OK TO CONTINUE.
  3. But before throwing away the (supposed broken) HP5610 I made the last attempt: I gave it the power with the new power supply and...surprise, the printer worked perfectly!!

Cartridge Error

There might be a part inside the printer that is broken. The carriage might have been damage also. You've already done the hard reset and also replace the cartridges, then the only solution for this is to replace the printer since there is a broken part on it.

HP Officejet 5610 All-in-One--Cartridge Error

If a reset hasn't cured this problem you probably need to disassemble the printer and clean the service station and the system board. This normally clear all carriage and cartridge errors, but these machines are quite awkward to take apart.
