Two things come to mind immediately: power and motherboard drivers. With no more details than you've given, that's about the best you're going to get.

Power: Newer cards **** watts like nobody's business. If you've got an older power supply it simply may not be strong enough to run the PC and the graphics card. Along this line, if the PSU is defective/failing/too warm it might not be putting out enough watts regardless of it's age or rating.

Drivers: Make sure your motherboard drivers are updated. It's not even unheard of for a company to ship a mobo with features/capabilities turned off or limited for a variety of reasons. Usually those get turned on in an update sometime down the road. Not to mention that the shipping drivers could just be flaky. You're mainly interested in southbridge drivers here.

And don't overlook updating DirectX and (sometimes) the system BIOS.

These are generic answers - "my pc crashes" is like telling a doctor "I don't feel good": What kind of diagnosis can he give from THAT?

Luck!

8800gt wont boot my 8800gtx will so it not power related please help

Hello there, I am the Expert that will be helping you today. My name is damnor01.

Welcome to Fixya.
As your 8800GTX boots fine and your 8800GT does not boot one would say that your 8800GT is faulty.

How faulty one does not know, does the fan spin? If so then there is some life left in it.
A technician might replace the capacitors for a fee, this may get it working again.

There is not much else on can do but give it to a computer technician to try and repair it.

Go to the website for the manufacturer of your computer.
Lets say you got an HP model MICKEY-MOUSE123 (which doesn't exist. This is an example) If you go to HP.com in their support section, they will have all of the drivers for the MICKEY-MOUSE123 available for download right there. Quick, easy, and efficient

look the card up and see if its AGP or Pci-e

Then you can see how much you can upgrade it.
If its AGP your options are limited, but still there are new cards made that will work with AGP.

Dose hp xw8200 support nvidia 8800gtx

That computer can handle an 8800GTX because it does have 1 PCIe x16 slot for it, which is what the card requires. It also should have enough power for that card as well. I imagine the Quadro is in the PCIe x16 slot though so you have to choose which card to use, not both.

Quadro cards are for workstations that are for 3D modeling and things of that nature. They are very expensive graphics cards but do not play games all that well. I imagine the 8800GTX would play games better, and certainly run Crysis if the resolusion and settings are not on HIGH.

You should be able to get them back by going to the control panel>programs and features>windows components and selecting the games tab. If they are all ticked, untick them, apply, then go back and tick them all again, apply and you should be all set.

GeForce 8800GTX and ASUS M2N-E motherboard compatability?

Yes, the GeForce 8800GTX will work with your motherboard. And yes, it ought to make your video a bit snappier, too. Given what it sounds like you're doing, I'd go with the 8800GT, with 512mb of RAM. XFX makes one with that setup, and it should only set you back about a hundred bucks. Also bear in mind that insufficient system RAM will also slow down screen changes.

Cheers

Problem

I suspect that the PC is still using the driver for the old card. Install the drivers for new card, and use the control panel to select the correct driver set. One way to do this, is to use Device Manager in 'System', and delete the current display driver, and then refresh to get the new one. You may want to set the display to 800x600 resolution before starting to do this.

The power supply is not powerful enough for your computer. You would need a new PSU I would recommend getting a good one from a company like FSP, PC Power and cooling, Silverstone, Xlcio, or OCZ. I am sure that this will fix your problem. I would also suggest that you follow the manufactures guide lines and get a PSU that is rated for at least 450W and supplies at least 30A on the 12V. The 30A rating on the 12V line would usually mean you would need to get a 550W PSU with one 12V rail. Keep in mind that those cards draw more power than most PSUs with multiple 12V rails can handle
