Your cam has a not so rare battery drain defect, mine had the same problem.

call Samsung and send yours in, they will either fix it or give you a new one.

Camera is always low on power even when new batteries are installed

Are you using the high power rechargeables, or normal AA's? Some of these cameras will only shoot 20 pics on AA"s, where the good rechargeables will get 1-200+ shots, check with your manual on recommended batteries.

Low battery indication with new batteries

Make sure you are using rechargable batteries. Normal batteries are not strong enough. Try using either rechargable Lithium Ion batteries, or rechargable Nickel Metal Hydride (NiMH) batteries. These are much stronger and should give you a good battery life.

It will not let the lenses come out.i put new batteries in it,but it still says low batterery.

you need to use at the least alkaline batteries in your camera. as most digital cameras "eat" batteries i recommend rechargables. i tried dollar store batteries once in my camera and managed to get one or two pictures (if it even started up).

Samsung S630 camera says "low battery" then shuts off

This camera needs rechargeable batteries usually lasts about a week with much use. I thought what a waste of batteries then tried these rechargable and the situation hasn't occured . it is probably because it is small digtal camera which uses alot of power.

Help with s630 Digital Camera

Rechargable batteries actually do not recharge the 100 times advertised. After maybe 10 times they are reduced in capacity noticably. For instance, new alkaline batteries will last me maybe 60 pictures, however the rechargables are only good for about 5. To test this try taking out the batteries, and put back in before you wish to try them, also turn off the flash if it is not needed.(flash uses a lot of power)

Fun mode and batteries

Dont use Ni-cd batteries, only NiMH or the new "Oxy" batteries from Panasonic, 5X the power of Alkaline and higher voltage, GREAT disposable battery for a Digi-cam. Some cams will NOT work on the old zinc batteries, even brand new. Fun mode is probably just to edit anyway, probably not a shooting mode.

Samsung S630 date gets reset while changing the batteries

It is really NORMAL that the date will be reset to the Manufacturer's date whenever you are changing batteries.

For you not to keep on changing the date and time of your camera, use Rechargeable batteries for a longer battery life span but make sure that you will be setting the battery type of your camera for the Rechargeable ones.

To set the correct battery type.
- Press on MENU button
- Press on the right button until you see SETUP 2
- Scroll down until you see BATTERY TYPE
- Select ALKALINE if you're using NON-RECHARGEABLE
- Select Ni-MH if you're using RECHARGEABLE
- Press on OK/MENU button for changes to be saved

Turn off camera after the settings
have been changed to refresh the camera.
