I receive hp catridge error when i refill the catridge and install in my printer.

check if cartridge is genuine
check if it is really a brand new one or fake

power cycle the printer
check if it has an alignment option, align the cartridge with new inks
check if it has a clean utility automatic cleaning
or you can manually clean the contacts on printheads which detects the inks the you inserted

reset the unit if you know how to
different printer has specific way of resetting

most probably you are just getting a rejection error try using theold one if that fixes the issue it means there must be an issue with brand new inks

hope it helps you

Printer says-

Remove the Cartridge.
Clean the Electrical ( golden ) contacts using lint free cloth.
Clean the Contacts inside the Cartridge slot.
Put then back in the Printer and follow the instructions on the Printer Screen.
If this does not resolve.. Contact HP Support if you are using Genuine HP Cartridge for more Help.

I have not used my HP Photosmard D7160 printer in years. I just replaced the ink and it does not print out pictures correctly. Everything has a greenish cast to it. How can if fix this?

You'll have to do a thorough cleaning of the nozzles. I'm assuming that you have tried running the deep cleaning procedure for your printer and you are using aftermarket or refilled cartridges.
The best way to clear the nozzles is to use new OEM ink cartridges and run the cleaning procedure at least 3x. You also need to run the alignment procedure whenever you insert new cartridges.
If you want to save the OEM cartridges, take black electrical tape and stretch the tape over the ink feed hole and store them in a zip lock bag. Reinsert the aftermarket cartridges. Be aware that the aftermarket/refilled cartridges are usually not up to manufacturer standards and may gum up the nozzles.
Let me know if this solves your problem.

Ink display will not reset upon installation of new ink cartridges

POSSIBLE PROBLEM: In the passed, whenever I installed ink cartridge in a HP, the computer inside the printer audits the cartridge(s), and if it isn't or wasn't HP Brand cartridge(s), it wouldn't accept or recognize the cartridge(s). I hope this helps.

Printer wont recognize a new ink cartridge

Let's hope it is only some dirt or oil on one of he many little electrical contacts, in the printer, that touch the back of the ink cartridge, which can be cleaned with a Qtip and denatured alcohol. if that doesn't work, you probably have damaged the contacts somehow, and will need a repairman. PS- your lucky- some printers won't even print in black if there's a problem with a color cartridge.

Incompatible Ink Cartridge notice with proper HP ink

These types of severe cartridge errors (i.e. "refer to documentation" / "incompatible cartridges", "print cartridge(s) problem", etc.) typically indicates the internal micro-electronics of the HP #74 / 75 (or 74XL/75XL) cartridge(s) are damaged. The cartridge's electrical wire runs at rear and lower side of the ink cartridge, are very delicate and are somewhat susceptible to ink attack over time, which can lead to premature failures. In addition, the older the cartridge the higher the chance of an internal electrical failure. I suggest you first run a 'Tap 41' diagnostic test to check cartridges electrical health (this is a forced test); you may also bypass the error (temporarily) on most models which use HP 74/75 cartridges. Ink in hp photosmart 3310

Hi,
the printer should have software installed enabling you to opt, for a printer-ink cartridge change.
If the cartridge has a chip fitted, it may be discharged.
The chip is supposed to be charged up, for the printer to recognise the newly installed cartridge.
view your settings in control panel/printer/properties to see what options you have available.
