Maxtor hardrive i have a maxtor hardrive,13 gig,,,would like to make it into a slave,,it has two jumpers on it now,,how can i make it a slave thank you,,[email protected]

Hi,

setup the first drive as slave ( sometimes No Jumper ) then the furthest away drive as Master.
If this fails, and you have 2 IDE Slots on the motherboard. ( Primary/Secondary ) Put 1 drive on primary as Slave. And DVD Rom As Master ( same Cable ) Then put second drive On Secondary IDE Slot. ( Set As Master Or Slave )
If none of these solutions Work For you, check to see if Both Channels are activated in the Bios.

remove all the jumpers and this drive will become slave.

Master is 7-8 (the 2 furthest from the power connector)
Slave is no jumpers selected

To slave the Maxtor you remove the jumper or jumpers
