Question about LG WM-2277HW Front Load Washer
Will not rince or spin
I had the same problem and removed the large black hose from the bottom of the drum to the pump - 3 connectors (2 pressure clamps and 1 large screw clamp). Found a whole host of coins etc.
Then removed the top of the pump - just undo the 3 silver screws and wiggle off the pump top - no need to disconnect the wires. Just be careful that you put the scew you can't see back in the right hole.
All this can be done from the bottom by laying the machine on the side to the left of the door.

We just had the same problem. We called an appliance store and they walked us through the process of finding out what was stuck in our pump and sure enough there was a quarter inside the pump. It broke one of the propellers but we were able to get the quarter out and reinstalled the pump and is still working fine. It is a bit of a hassle and will take some time, but it is definitely worth the money saved! I am forever grateful to the appliance store that supplied us with this information!
You cannot just take the front panel off! You have to set the machine on it's side and work on it from the bottom. My husband and I did this together and are thrilled that we did not have to pay for a service call and at this point do not have to purchase a new pump.
