Question about Canon Office Equipment & Supplies

When I print text that is in colour, a white line runs through the text. That does not happen with black and white text. I am using a Canon S750 and have Windows XP.

Thanks for your solution. I have tried cleanly and deep cleaning and still the problem remains. The printer is getting old; I probably need a new print head or even a new machine.

You have to check the print head ..cause even if I heard much theories about what causes these stripes...when they appear ..usually the only fix is to change the print head...So ..this will be at your latitude..It is kinda costly ..and you have to put the problem if it worth changing on this machine ..
Some have a theory about the little contacts that match up with the cartridges...They say that if one of these is smashed due to a force jam of a cartridge in a wrong position ..and changing their slightly concave form ...and not making good contact in certain positions and so ..when is in that position that cause no contact they do not deliver toner ..something like that ...you may take a magnifier and look to see if they are all ok ..Also a cleaning of the rollers and all that get in contact with the paper will not hurt..but it is a long shoot cause it only makes it in the color printing , so it is something related with the colored cartridges..and Im90 % sure it is the print head for colored cartridges..that it is damaged in a point and causes that line..

Is there any way to continue to print in BLACK AND WHITE when he colored ink has run out...((5 of the time I print in B&W

I'm afraid not. Most colour printers print what is known as 4 colour black to give a deeper more solid black, so all the coloured inks as well as black are needed to print a black text or image.

I am trying to print a document, that has some coloured text sections, all in black and white. I am using Word for Mac on a Canon ip4300 Pixma printer. But I can't find out how? Any suggestions?

Go to file, then down to print, when the print dialog comes up click on copies and pages and go down to print settings and change from color to black and white or grayscale. Hope this helps.

Lexmark Z615 inkjet printer - whetther I print in colour or black and white, I am getting whole lines of text/image missing. When I use the "clean nozzle" function some of the colours - like...

The problem with your printer is the print head. Usually you have to run the clean nozzle thing 5 or 6 times to clean the print head nozzles and if there's still no improvement after that then print head needs to be changed for the printer to work properly. The bad news is that a print head costs almost as much as a new printer.

My canon MP145 three-in-one printer cannot print because the coloured ink has finished. How can i continue to print using black ink only?

Hi joyce2020
Some printers do print even if one cartridge is empty.
This is what you have to do. Goto the print setting page. you will find check boxes for Print in Color OR Black& White.
Usually, the color box is checked. When you check the box for color, you can print in black and white as well provided the text is written in B&W. If you check the B&W, the printer will print everything in black including color text and graphics.

Hope this will work for you.
Good Luck

Can i print black and white text only when colour cartridges are empty but black is full on an ip14300?

you can make a selection from the File->Print option of your word processor or whatever package you are using. it is your command that sets the printer to B&W or color. If your Black ink finishes then the printer even if set to color will print black as near black with color inks.

The ''odometer'' shows greyscale as colour

Any machine I'm familiar with has a default colour setting that you can set to either colour or black & White. Check in your printer properties. If the machine is set for colour, even if you are printing all black text for example, it will "make" the black from the colours, thus registering it as a colour document.

I have a Canon MP610 printer. The Test page prints ok.The copy fuction is perfect co;our and black and white. When printing from a file saved on computer the text has a sepia tone not black and white....

just chk the properties or the colour cobinations if you choose text for printing out than it will only print text and if it is too dark red that means it is connected with some wrong colour wire

Why is there 2 black ink cartridges in my Canon MP600 printer

On some printers, probably including yours, the black ink will be taken from the reserves in your colour cartridge unless you specifically tell it to do a black and white print on each document, regardless of whether it's printing black exclusively. I wouldn't worry, the black ink in it's own cartridge can also be used for colour photos etc with no detrimental effects.
