Hi,
You need to go into the TV menu to the service section or lamp hours section & look for a statement like "RESET LAMP HOURS" or similar. Once you complete the task the message will no longer show. If you can't find it you can email me at [email protected] with your Make & Model # of your TV & I can give you specific instructions. I specialize in DLP & LCD Projector repair but projection TVs use similar hardware.
Good Luck,
Jim

I got the 'lamp needs replacing' message. Ignored it. Now my tv screen is black when you try to turn it on and the blue button on the power button flashes?

You haven't replaced the lamp at time. Replace a new lamp along with its ballast and make a lamp time reset. If you wish to get more details about the lamp replacing procedure to Panasonic PTVs, check this link.

How long do I have after the lamp replacement warning comes up before I have to replace the lamp?

You can use the Lamp even if the TV displays the message to replace the lamp. However, the performance of the TV, i.e the picture may become dark, entire screen may display in black after some time. If you can view the videos normally even after displaying the message, you may continue using it.
Thanks for understanding.

My jvc 56' flat screen is showing a message in blue to replace lamp but there still is a good picture?

Well, the message is trigger by the passing of time. The TV simply counts the hours the TV has been on, then when the counter hits the designated amount... the message starts to appear. Best thing to do is order a lamp and have it on hand. You can go into the TV menu and reset the lamp timer for now, just to get the message out of sight. When the lamp does fail, change the lamp and reset the timer again. I hope this was of some assistance, best wishes.

My sony KDF-50E2000 TV has screen message coming up that says projection lamp life is expiring, is the XL2400 the proper replacement and will that correct the problem

Yes XL2400 is correct number. Replace Lamp message is a timed message that will reset and turn off if you unplug TV when lamp is removed and replaced.

Zenith model D52wlcd projection TV has been saying replace lamp for several weeks. Has had a small pink spot in middle of screen. Now full screen is pink. is this a lamp problem or just DOA?

The Lamp will no cause any color distortion. The "Replace Lamp" message comes up after a certain amount of hours after watching the TV because the lamp only last a certain number of hours before needing a replacement one.

It sounds like a light engine problem. There is no quick fix, you need to replace the whole light engine which is very costly (light engines usually run at least $500) and time consuming (need to take whole TV apart to replace part).
