Question about Vacuums

Open Question

My Oregon Scientific BAR888 has 5 windows, 1. temperature, 2. humidity, 3. mb/hPa or inHg (switch at the back), 4. bars showing pressure changes over 24 hours, and 5. time/date. Window 3 gives an option to set something between 0 and 2500. Oregon say they only have one set of instructions for the BAR888 but they do not match my instrument as there is nothing included for my window 3. Trouble is I don't know what the 0 to 2500 relates to and therefore don't know what to set it at.(My model does not have an atomic clock.) Grateful for advice please or where to find the right instruction manual. Thanks.

SOURCE: Hello, On the 24 of June

I'm a little confused about this question. You bought it in Budapest but live in Israel? This could be why the clock is wrong. Many of these Weather Stations (it would be helpful to know the model number) have radio controlled clocks, which pick up a signal broadcast from an atomic clock, but there are many such broadcasts, depending on where you are. In the UK we can get our own atomic clock or Germany's, and if one has a German model weather station or clock one needs to adjust it to a different time zone from the default to get UK time.

Oregon Scientific have an extensive web site with manuals for download, but without knowing the model, I would not know which manual to download to help you with the thermometer issue, or indeed the clock setting. I assume (you don't say) that the outdoor sensor is wireless. If so, there are usually three channels for the link, and both the station and the sensor have to be set for the same channel.

SOURCE: I have a Sio/Scan Atomic

The Sio/Scan Atomic clocks should automatically set the time and date.

Place the clock in a window facing towards Colorado and give it 24 hrs to update

If that fails here's the web site for them:

Hi,

You press and release the mode button, then press the adjust button. This is what the instructions say to do. However, I see that you don't have an adjust button listed. I would try pressing and releasing the mode button, then pressing the ZONEDATE button and see if that will do it.

If this works, please place a vote for me. Thanks,

How do I put on the belt

Normally fairly simple.............1)Remove the bottom plastic cover. Should be 2 or 3 screws. 2) Pull the bar out (along with the belt) 3) Put new belt around the bar on the smooth surface. 3) Put bar back in (It goes a certain way, but easy to tell by the ends of the bar 4) Stretch the belt back to the small round metal pole. It should be tight, so sometimes takes a litlle muscle.

1. Make sure the safety switch for the hose handle on the right side of the hose handle is turned to the closed position. To do that, push it away form the hose.
2. Make sure the steam release button (next to the on/off button on the control panel on the steamer) is in the Off position.
3. Make sure the safety cap is tightened.

I replaced a Intermatic light timer with a GE 15086 timer. I have read several solution, but none fit my wire sceme. This is hooked up as a 3-way switch so the second switch can turn outside lights on...

1) GE 15086 is not a 3-way timer.
GE programmable timers are for single-pole switch replacement only. I have tested this timer, and own several GE timers, and many other brands.

2) Open following link to identify timers that work for 3-way switching.
http://waterheatertimer.org/GE-timers-and-manuals.html#15071

3) After buying correct timer, then you need to review wiring diagrams carefully because the timer replaces 1 of the 3-way switches, but other 3-way switch has to be wired exactly right to match your brand of timer.

4) Links on page above show manuals for each of the 3-way timers. Compare wiring for each timer with Intermatic wiring that you are replacing, because Intermatic is wired differently than Aube.

5) Or just buy another Intermatic ST01C or EJ500 or EI400, etc, and wiring with change out 1 for 1.

6) Add a comment for more free help.
Also take advantage of fixya expert assistance live.
For a price, expert works with you while you work on timer or any do-it-yourself project.
Fixya is always less expensive than a service call.

Check all the wiring connections to make sure they're tight.
1/2. Wiring to power nozzle motor or reset switch is loose.
1. Cord from power nozzle to upper wand. If the plastic portion of the wand is cracked near the cord connection, or the connections are blackened, they need replaced.
2. Wiring connection from hose handle to upper wand. Check for cracks and discoloration as in 1 above. Replace if necessary.
3. Hose connection to vacuum. Not likely, but possible.
4. There could very well be a break in the hose wiring.
You may need to take your vacuum, with hose and power nozzle, to an authorized Aerus Electrux service shop. They can try a new hoze to see if that's the problem. If there is a break in the wiring, the hose is probably worn in other areas as well, and should be replaced.

Why did the brushes stop rotating?

It could be a few different reasons, 1. The belt is broken, 2. The motor has died, 3. There is an obstruction, or some such thing stopping the bar from rotating (often hair and/or string) 4. The contact switch is defective. (switch that turns beater bar on when handle is tilted back) Hope this helps

Kenmore Elegance Vacuum cleaner - power bar not working

The problem almost certainly is that the axle of the brush in your power bar has dirt/fluff in it that is preventing the belt from turning it so that the fuse in the power bar clicks off after 2 or 3 seconds. It is fairly easy to fix. All you will need is a Phillips screwdriver and about 15 minutes. Follow the following steps

1. With the power bar disconnected from the vacuum, turn it upside down and you will see two inset screws at the rear side of the base of the power bar. Unscrew these two screws using your Phillips screwdriver.

2. With the power bar in the same position unlatch the two plastic tabs at the rear of the power par. [It may be useful to flip up the metal bar that you see on the base to use as a handle] On each side of the base you will see an arrow saying insert screwdriver here to release. Insert a screwdriver and lever the plastic of the base slightly apart from the plastic of the side. When you have done this for both sides the base should lift off.

3. Now lift the brush including the two end pieces straight up. It should just slide up. You will need to unhook the drive belt from the brush as you lift it out.

4.Pull of each end piece and clean the dust, lint, hair off the end piece and from inside the end of the brush.

5.Once clean, reinstall the end pieces on the brush. Hook the belt back over the brush to its original position and slide the brush back into the power bar.

6. Reinstall the base by hooking the tabs from the front of the base into the small openings on the power bar.then push the base down until it clicks back into place and the tabs are back in their original position. Reinstall the two screws you removed earlier.

7. The power bar should now work. Good luck.
