Question about Office Equipment & Supplies
I have resolved this issue:
I downloaded the latest 7280 installation file and installed the printer using a USB connection. When this was correctly established and working I removed the USB and used the network wizard on the 7280 to locate and connect to the router. I then used the 'add device' in the installation programme to locate the printer. This now works and allows me to access the Internet at the same time. However, I have tried this same method on my wife's computer and having established the connection via USB, I cannot get it to locate the printer. Whilst my computer is connected to the Belking 54g via an ethernet cable she is using the Belkin wireless monitor to access the router. She has no problems connecting to the Internet when the printer is active. Any ideas?
It's just the printer she cannot access? Is she able to ping the printer? or possibly, connect to the printer via your computer? You can also try adding the printer manually. It's share name can be found either via your own computer (in the printer properties), or via the printers web interface (192.168.x.x). To do so, click Start > Printers and Faxes > Add Printer Select "Local printer attached to this computer". Click Next and select "Create new port", then from the dropdown list, select "Standard TCP/IP Port" and click Next. Click Next on the dialog that appears, then enter the printers IP address, and a port name for it (for example for my own I entered "192.168.0.100" as that is my printers IP address, and "IP_192.168.0.100" for the port name (Windows enters this itself when you put in the IP address - you can change this to whatever you like)), and click Next. You will now see a dialog showing you the printer it is going to add. Click Next on this screen.
