I have a Westinghouse TV with a CD/DVD player which is great. My problem is I cannot find any way to eject the CD. I have tried every button on the remote related to the DVD player, looked at the manual and found nothing. Please help!

Well on the remote there should be an arrow with a line under it that is pointing up. If that doesn't work there should be a button that you can push that is next to or under the slot where you put the disk in. If you find the buttons but your DVD still will not come out you will have to do what we did. You have to unplug the power from your tv then plug it back in. After you do hit the eject button the dvd should spit out. If it makes noises like it is trying to come out but can't you might have to stick a butter knife in there to get it to pop out. I hope you get the DVD out but beware the DVDs seem to stick for some reason.

Sorry to hear you are having so many problems with your TV, one thing you can do to eject the DVD is to unplug the TV, hold down the eject button, plug the TV back on, (still holding the eject button) press the power button and the movie should come out. You might need a second person to assist you with this, if this does not work you can send me an email at and we will figure out what you can do to have this fixed.

Westinghouse 40'' bilt in cd woun't eject cd

There is a way to make the TV eject the CD, what you have to do is to unplug the TV for at least 40 seconds, you than press and hold the power button, plug the TV to the power (don't let go of the power button) and press the eject button. This will force the CD to come out of the drive. If you have any further questions please send me a quick email to, please rate this comment if it was useful.

DVD trying to eject

I just took my West. DVD 40" apart
Very cheap DVD player inside.
Fixed one problem - the felt glued down to inside of DVD player to keep DVD from getting scracthed when inserted inside the player came off and was binding DVD - this may cause DVd to want to eject - I am calling Westinghouse to see if they will send me a new DVD player to install.
DVD has gotten louder over the past few of it's 20 month life as well - to an unacceptable level.
