Question about ASUS P4P800 Motherboard

The Bios shows the tempertaure of motherboard and CPU very high. It shows temperature ERROR. But it works nornally.

clean your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor specifically around your central processing unit making VERY sure there is no moisture in the air line

as dust will cause a lot of static which will make a computer overheat and cause lots of problems

Processor thermal treat error while booting


Make sure that cpu fans are running normally. Go to BIOS (generally with F2 on intel motherboards), and there will be information about cpu temperature, also fan speed (in RPM). If fan speed is 0 or very low problem is in cpu fan. (connection problem might be). If cpu fan speed is normal (high value) and cpu temperature is high, I will suggest you to open your PC case (or notebook) and see whether cpu fan is dirty or not. This is very common problem. If so, clean it.

Hi, The problem is the CPU temperature sensor. When you start and check the CPU temperature, BIOS shows a temperature of 70C


Have you tried updating the BIOS? It could just be a bad setting causing the CPU to be clocked at the wrong speed as well.

Your system is probably hanging because of high temperature. Check cpu temperature in bios hardware monitor. If it is to high check the heatsink is fitted properly also apply thermal paste between processor and heatsink.

My CPU fan started to become unreliable and would not always start. This gave me an error tone when this happened. I therefore replaced the whole assemble with a akasa AK-955 unit from maplin. This worked...


i hate to say this but you may have had a bad fan sent to you or it is not connected into the actual cpu fan port. or the fan is giving false rpm readings to the bios even though the cpu is staying cool.....last thing.... make sure you used thermal paste to install the heatsink/fan ect... otherwise you may run a high risk of burning the cpu.

Hi,
Enter bios and check your CPU temperature, maybe it gets hot (optimal CPU temperature depends on CPU type, but usually it? not normal if it? above 65 *C) and because of that shutdown occurs. If the CPU temperature is high, apply heating paste between CPU and heatsink. Usually if the PSU is defective, the system restarts, shutdown occurs rarely.

AMI BIOS uses beeps of the same length and pitch. The error is displayed as a number of beeps. For example, 4 beeps indicated a timer failure.

Mother Board problem


use bios CD update bios on the mother board.ok
after that cpu fan...refix the cpu fan after cline,
apply the paste on the Proccessor.it working fine

Replace cpu fan , failed cpu fan might have caused CPU stoped working. If you are sure about the CPU fails then replace the CPU. If the problem seems continues after that too, then PC might have failed to boot due to other reasons. What shows on the screen once you power on the computer? There could be , motherboard , or harddisk faults too. Try unplugging other parts and see if the computer boots from CD or USD flash or floppy drive!! Once you know that motherboard works then replace the CPU. There could be BIOS setup problem. Did you check the BIOS for harddisk is set properly.

System temperature too high

Enter your bios & open manual to page 51, "PC Health Status". Here you can monitor the CPU temp, system temp & CPU fan speed. Notice the manual shows the example of system temp to be 30degs C & current CPU Temperature is at 47degs C. One would think these temps are reasonable. My CPU fan runs between 3308Rpm & 3341Rpm. CPU @ 41deg C & MB @ 31deg C. AMD 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+ 2.21 GHz.
Suggest you try this. If your running Win XP. Open system properties. Click the Advanced tab. Click the settings button under
Startup and Recovery. Remove the check mark to the left of, Automatically restart. Windows should provide an error message if & when the system freezes. This will help in finding what is causing the system to freeze. If your CPU fan is running under 3000Rpm you might consider buying a faster fan or add a case fan to the side of the case to help bring in fresh air to blow onto the CPU fan & PCI-Express card.
