Question about Office Equipment & Supplies

2 Answers

I keep getting error code "J01" to remove misfed paper on my Panafax UF-7000-AUJ. I have removed print cartridge/drum unit, removed paper tray, removed some of the paper, checked in the back--BUT STILL KEEPS DOING IT! Also, when I first close the cover in front of the print cartridge/drum and the machine starts trying to print my faxes it makes a brief scheeching noise--ominous. Anything else I can do myself?

Thanks, I may have to wait and call for service on Monday. I see two sets of "springs" on either side along the track where I slide-in the print/drum cartridge. Is one of those the problem?

Thanks. I left a message to request service on Monday.

In your printer, there are two Switch Actuators (regulator/sensor) beside the Cartridge compartment. You will be able to see it after the cartridges are removed. Try to gently push or pull clip. It might have been stuck on the passage.

Sometimes, simply pushing and pulling out a bunch of papers can clear the obstruction. You can also try this, Remove the cartridge/s, drum and the fuser unit, now take a blower or air can or vacuum cleaner and clean the passage with the respective selected machine.

Actually, locating the actuator isn't a simple job, in most cases, we need a tech to do this task. If you can't locate it, you better call a tech who knows about printers and get it fixed for you than messing around with it. You may damage another components

If you need further help, let me know.

Good luck.

Thanks for using FixYa.

Hi,

We need to remove the toner cartridge. There will be two switch actuators at the bottom.

From your description, it seems that there is an issue with one of those.
Try to clip the actuator back, that might help you in resolving the issue.

This is a rather difficult job, I mut say. You might want to have a service tech deal with this problem.

    Yes, exactly.

The reason i suggested that you involve a tech is because this is a rather complex procedure.

J01 error, but no paper jam; can't re-set

Remove the toner cartridge.

There should be 2 switch actuators sticking up from the base.

It sounds like one of these actuators has been knocked loose. Try to clip the actuator back on to the sensor.

This is a TOUGH job, you may need a sercive tech to look at it.

Paper jam in back top area of a konica minolta 2400w bob.crane@ihug.co.nz

moz-screenshot-7.jpgClearing Media misfeeds
To avoid damage, always remove misfed media gently, without tearing it. Any pieces of media left in the printer, whether large or small, can obstruct the media path and cause further misfeeds. Do not reload media that has misfed.
Note
The image is not fixed on the media before the fusing process. If you touch the printed surface, the toner may stick to your hands, so be careful not to touch the print face when removing the misfed media. Make sure not to spill any toner inside the printer.

Clearing Procedures
1. Pull the lever, and then open the top cover. If there is paper in the output tray, remove it, and then fold up the output tray before opening the top cover. Do not touch the transfer belt.

2. Slowly pull out the drum cartridge. removed drum cartridge on top of the printer keep it close and insure it is safe and stable where it sits. Be sure to keep the drum cartridge horizontal and place it where it will not become dirty.
Do not leave the drum cartridge removed for more than 15 minutes, and do not place the removed drum cartridge in a location where it would be exposed to direct light (such as sunlight).

3. Remove any misfed media.

4. Reinstall the drum cartridge

5. Carefully close the top cover

I hope this helps you and thanks for your question.
I the problem persists let Fixya know and we can detail a few items to check in order to determine the cause of the frequent misfeeds.....thanks........Whytfang
