ALWAYS UNPLUG YOUR DRYER BEFORE ATTEMPTING TO DO ANY WORK ON IT.
Sounds like your problem may be a broken belt, or the belt may have slipped off of the motor pulley, or idler arm pulley or a faulty motor.
If you have to check/replace/repair your drum motor, drum seals, belt, rollers, etc.
If replacing drum seals be sure to use a good grade of weather proof cement to hold the seal/s in place.
Be sure to check your motor to make sure it is not faulty
Note: This method works for most front loading machines.
Remove the electrical console that holds the timer switch, start switch, etc. from the top of the dryer. Be real careful not to knock any of the wires off of the timer switch or other electrical connections.
Remove the lint filter and the screws that hold the filter housing.
Then remove the top of the dryer.
Note: Some of the tops tilt backwards and do not have to be removed completly.
Remove the front of the machine, this will expose the belt and drum, remove the drum and belt and this will expose the drum rollers, idler arm bracket with pulley, and motor with pulley. Pay attention to the route of the belt, this will come in handy when you go to reinstall the belt and drum.
Sometimes the belt will slip off of the idler arm or motor causing the drum not to turn.
While you have the drum out, I would recommend that you lubricate the drum rollers at the shaft of the roller with a good grade of machine oil like 3 in One oil. This will save you a problem later with the rollers getting noisy, also check your drum rollers for flat spots, if they have flat spots on them this will cause a noise like a thumping type noise. You will need to replace the drum rollers if they have flat spots on them.

Miele novotronic t 1526 dryer taking too long to dry clothes. It does dry but now ~2-3 times longer than it should.

Dear Arland,
Here are a few common answers.
1) Be certain the clothes from the washer are already "half dry".
If the washer is not extracting enough water like it used to, it may be the problem. (For example: A loose or slipping drive belt).
2) Your dryer vent may be clogged with lint.
Check the total run of the exhausted air ( From the machine to the outside air)
Any blockage can slow, or nearly stop, the drying process.
3) Check the inside of the machine.
Newer machines often clog up inside where you cannot see the problem.
You must completely dismantle the machine to clean it.
God bless your efforts.

Clothes are still wet after last spin cylce

Most washing machines do not dry the clothes completely. Make sure that your clothes are evenly spaced & the weight is balanced to get the best spin speed. When the cycle is complete, you will need to put the clothes into a dryer or hang them up to get them completely dry.

My electric dryer heats up but doesnt dry the clothes

If your vent hose is more than about ten feet long, your dryer may not have enough pressure to keep the air moving sufficiently to dry the clothes. Is it possible you are simply over loading your dryer?

I put a small load of washing in the dryer and it doesn't dry and takes 2 or 3 drying cycles.

A restricted vent is the most common cause for long dry times. You can run a load of clothes with the vent hose disconnected from the back of the dryer. If you don't get any heat dring a cylce, and you verified an "air fluff" cycle has not been selected, I suggest having a professional service tech give you a diagnosis. The problem could be in one of a few thermostats, the heating element, main control (timer or control board), sensor, motor switch or even supply voltage.

After one 80 minute drying cycle, the clothes are still just as wet and the dryer lint in the lint screen is wet. It takes 3 cylces to dry clothes. I've already replaced the heating element. The dryer vent...

Depending on the make and model, you should have a temperature sensor somewhere on the heating element box. That may be malfunctioning. They are usually less that $10 USD and replacement is real easy. Simply unbolt the old one, pull the two wire from it, put the wires on the new one and rebolt it to the heater unit.

My fisher paykel dryer does not dry properly. I have to run 2 cylces to make the clothes dry

If you have to run the dryer 2 to 3 times as long to dry the clothes then you just need to make sure the vent hose behind the dryer isn't kinked up and the vent is open all the way out side ,,, that will fix it for you.
