My old front load whirlpool isn't draining. Someone suggested opening a plug on the bottom left of the machine front that may have gotten clogged but we were unable to open it. any suggestions?

hello,

the solution giving to you i also a way of draining the water from the washer ,

But i will like to draw back your attention back to the drain pipe inside the drum of the washer..... what you need to do to fix up (solve)the problem of the drainage from here is that you have to bale out the waste water in the drum of the washer to see the cloth or dirty that have form up to block the pipe of the water out flow, remove any form of dirty around the pipe that have stop the water flowing as is expected to, with this the problem of blockage is solve.

please note this important information PUT OFF ALL FORMS OF POWER SUPPLY CONNECTED TO THE WASHER.

Thank you and thanks for using fixya.

My water is draining out of my machine as it is filling, Why?

This is a condition known as syphoning. Your drain hose on the washer needs to go up before it connectes to the house drain. It needs to rise as high as the washing machine top then hook over the drain pipe. If the drain hose is pushed too far into the drain pipe this can also cause syphoning.

Here are some tips to help describe this better.

Is the drain hose extending more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe?
The drain hose may be too far down inside the drainpipe (standpipe) or laundry tub. Drained water can siphon back into the washer if the drain hose extends too far. Make sure that the drain hose does not extend more than 8" (20.3 cm) into the drainpipe or laundry tub. Using the U-shape drain hose form (as described in the Installation Instructions), will provide the correct length of drain hose in the drainpipe or laundry tub.

Is the drain hose taped onto the drainpipe? Is top of the drainpipe covered in tape?
Do not seal the drain hose into the drainpipe with tape. The drain hose should be loose, yet secure. There must be a gap between the drain hose and the drainpipe to allow air to flow. The air gap will break the suction. This will keep water from being continuously sucked out of the machine (siphoning) as it fills.
Is the drainpipe (standpipe) less than the minimum height of 39" (99 cm)?
Make sure that the top of the drain is at least 39" (99 cm) high (as measured from the floor.) If the drain is below 39" (99 cm), the water will start to flow out of the machine due to gravity. The flow of water can create suction (siphon) and the water will continue to drain out of the washer.

I have to drain my washing machine through a front hole drain opening in the bottom corner of machine. Water comes out, it has been left in machine. I drain my machine every six loads. WHY did Bosch design...

you have a blockage some where in the drain hose.most likely in the hose the comes form the bottom of the tub to the pump.you attach a wet dry shop vac to the end of the drain hose and remove the water this way while the vaccum is working look at the hose that comes form the tub to the pump and if it colapses then there is something restricting the water flow.also make sure to check in side the drain pump cover for any thing that is obstructing the pump

It wont drain the water away after a wash we

sounds like your pump may be gone, or could be pipe blocked. to check pipe fill machine take outlet pipe at rear of machine and lay this into a bowl. If water flows ok then all pipes are clear. As water is coming through just put machine onto spin cycle and raise hose to see if water will then pump out.

A puddle of water forms under the machine and

Hi
If its dirty water your drain in back is plugged. There is a pocket below the injector nozzle that the pressure is relieved in when the brewing is done. This pocket can get clogged with residue after a while and then overflows under the drip tray. The drain is in back just above the back of the drip tray. If you pour water in the pocket it should come out the drain. If it doesn't, clean out the pocket, and that should take care of it. If it does,t, I need more information.

Had a question, can you place the two hoses that drain the access water in a bucket rather then place the hoses out a window the drain?

Hi, yes you can, but make sure bucket is big enough to fetch all water from machine, always keep hose same level with water in tub, when machine is in operation. lowering hose to floor could get water out by gravity. it's better to put drain hose in sinks, or some form of plumbing, work machine, don't let machine work you, but if it's more convenient for you to drain in bucket, sure, it's o.k. good luck.

Water wont go into drum, it goes straight out the drain and the some lights start flashing

suspect you have the drain down at floor level. drain hose should go upwards to about the height of the worktop before going down to drain. if you are draining into a standpipe, put drain hose only a few inches into the standpipe, not right down to the bottom or a syphon will form

no thats two different problems. The rubber piece (boot) forms a seal to prevent the water from leaking out, that should be replaced. Water might have leaked and ruined the pump. At the end of all cycles is there still water in the tub? If so your pump is either clogged or has gone bad, and thats why the washer wont go into extract.
