Well, it could be a venting issue, but presumably your sink is vented, to pass code. Try removing the stopper and test again. Most stoppers or screen covers slow flow too much, in my opinion.

My washer stops mid cycle then the time delay button flashes.

Sounds like you have a problem with either water coming in too slow(Clean the water valve inlets for both the hot and cold) or a slow drain problem. Which could be either your drain from the house is slow or there is something in the pump. Either one of these could cause your unit to time out before the next cycle.

It could be a venting issue. Check the roof vent for the plumbing system. Perhaps clogged with leaves or other debris causing a blockage in the vent line. You can use a hose up to the roof and flush out the vent line. Another problem may be calcium buildup. CLR , a product available at most hardware and grocery stores will dissolve mineral buildups.

Gas thermostat fails

1) If your water heater plugs into outlet, then electronic gas controls are susceptible to power surge. and reversed outlet polarity, and undervoltage at outlet, lack of ground wire continuity between ground plug and manifold tube connected to bottom of gas control valve.

2) If sediment builds up inside tank, it will cover thermostat probe and cause probe to malfunction.
Tank can have sediment flakes build-up and still drain perfectly clean water.

3) There are 2 general types of Honeywell electronic gas controls valves installed on Whirlpool heaters.
http://waterheatertimer.org/How-to-troubleshoot-gas-water-heater.html#intellivent
The gas control for atmospheric water heater (passive vent at top of heater) is modular, and is not always removed from tank when replaced.
The other gas control for power vent models is removed completely.

4) Remove thermostat from tank to reveal 3/4" opening.
Look inside tank.
To remove sediment flakes: Tape assorted plastic pipes and tubes to shop vac hose and see if flakes can be removed. And remove drain valve.

5) Check that air intake is clean using feather duster or compressed air, clean combustion parts as shown in product manual. If air intake is clogged with dust, then draft vent is slowed. This causes slowed venting of hot combustion by-product that will overheat combustion chamber.
Typically this condition will trip the FV system. BUT it might also trip the gas control thermostat.

Stand 3-legged water heaters on bricks so inspection and cleaning flame arrestor screen is ez.

Bathroom sink smells strongly like sewer when water runs fast.

Suppose you plugged the drain of the sink and filled the basin with water, then removed the plug. I must think that only after the basin empties you would get the sewer smell, and the smell would persist until you slowly ran some more water. If you try this, and this is the result, then the problem is that the sewer vent (that is supposed to prevent the water in the trap under the sink from being sucked down the drain) is not working right. If this is a new problem then you may be able to clear what is probably a blocked vent pipe. If this bathroom has always had this problem, then you have a poorly designed or executed vent pipe setup that you can only fix it with some surgery to your plumbing. However, to clean the vent you can try pouring a good bit of drain cleaner down the vent pipe on the roof, followed by water. But because there may be several vent pipes sharing the same vent stack out the roof, the drain cleaner may not get to your blockage and may simply go down a different path. Good luck.

Kohler K-7725-BN vessel sink drain drains slowly. Suggestions?

There are several things that could be causing you trouble. If you have a pop up drain then you can loosen the nut that holds the lift rod to the stopper and pull the plug out to see if there is a build up of hair causing the slow draining. If so try to remove it or use a drain cleaning product to dissolve it. If you can find it I have had good results using a product called Glug or double agent. They both work well on hair or grease build up. Just follow instructions on container as they both can cause eye or skin irritation. If you can't get it opened up you can remove the p-trap and clean it.If you still have problems you can purchase a cheap hand crank drain cleaner and try to run it into drain line. Most of these are under twenty dollars and may have 15-25 foot 1/4 cables on them.Good luck and thank you.

My heat on my dryer not working drum spins vent clean

Hi,

There are several things that can cause a gas dryer to have no heat. I can walk you through how to test the components if you have a bit of mechanical ability and an ohmmeter to test with. I will list the suspects here but to narrow it down we need to do a bit more troubleshooting.

Thermal fuse or thermal cut off - these two components can trip if too much heat builds up due to lack of air flow, usually a restricted vent.

Gas valve coils - these can fail as a result of age

Gas valve ignitor - This can fail as a result of age or vibration

Control/timer contacts - Fails due to age or heavy use

Let me know how deep you want me to go as far as troubleshooting with you on these and I would be happy to assist.

The blockage MAY be beyond the length of the snake you used. Once I had a blockage that required 145 feet of snake. ALSO the vent could be plugged by any of several things, including wasp nests.
