1 Red Ring = Serious Hardware Failure

Your xbox is overheating.
1. Let your Xbox 360 console cool. You may have to wait several hours for your console to cool enough. Don't turn on your Xbox 360 console when the console is hot. 2. Verify that your Xbox 360 console has enough ventilation and that the fans are operating. 3. If the two lights continue to flash after trying the above steps, you'll need to contact Xbox Customer Support.

Send your console for repair immediately, It wont cost you anything.

Since you mentioned green and red lights.

the dreaded red light...it happened because your xbox is on for long hours at a given time...give some rest and try again if red light goes green play for 3 hours let it cool down for 30 mins... if its dead then i'm sorry

Im sorry to hear and tell you this...

You must know that that is a issue called the Red Ring of Death and is only fixed getting it sent into Microsoft. If it is no more than 2 to 3 years old you will be able to have it fixed for free.

call microsoft immediately and tell them about the light status..you should get a replacement soon..all the best!
